Universal Studios Home Entertainment in partnership with Paramount Home Entertainment and Warner Brothers Home Entertainment will deliver six of Hitchcock's best in a deluxe book set. Rear Window, To Catch A Thief, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho, and The Birds will be housed together on 4K UHD for the first time.

A year in physical media releases wouldn't be complete without another Hitchcock set to drool over. This time we're getting a little bit of everything. Rather than rehash the discs they've already delivered in 2160p with HDR, Universal smartly partnered up with Paramount and Warner Brothers to give fans of Hitchcock a taste of his most famous works in a deluxe coffee table-style book. Think along the lines of what Universal dropped for their Universal Monsters Collection, with articles and essays for each film along with the discs themselves. Now, by the time this set reaches shelves, all of these films will have been released in single-title, or box set form - and it doesn't look like we're getting anything "new" in that arena. If you're buying Warner Bros. upcoming North by Northwest or already have picked up Paramount's new 4K of To Catch a Thief then you've got everything on disc this set will have to offer.

However, if you haven't picked these up yet, this is a stylish piece to consider for the shelf!

This'll go very nicely with the Universal Monsters set they released which used the same artist. Think I'll wait for it to hit the sales as I did with that one though.

They’ve never really beaten the Ultimate Film maker collection they did years back.
Yeah, love that edition. Although, for some reason, the clear perspex box that sits over it gradually started to crack in multiple areas on mine :(

Oh has it? Damn. I need to check on mine, I have it displayed but it’s so high up on the top shelve I’ve never taken it down for a long time.

Similar to me lol. Had it up high on my shelves for years, then finally took it down when cleaning and noticed tons of cracks... weirdly another set I had that also used perspex had done the same. I remember Googling it at the time and didn't come across anyone else who'd experienced it. Only thing I can think that may have caused it is the fact that I have a radiator behind that particular shelving unit, so maybe it had something to do with it heating the plastic and then it suddenly cooling when the heating went off.

They should've included Rope. It's probably my 2nd favourite Hitchcock movie yet never appears to get the credit it deserves. Absolutely brilliant movie.
I honestly hadn't checked what films were included, but assumed it would be the classics, which Rope certainly is! Definitely going to wait on a price drop now I realise that isn't included.

Out of interest... what's your #1 favourite Hitchcock movie?

Rear Window.

Most would expect to hear Psycho but for me, Psycho isn't as good on repeat viewings once you know the ending. Brilliant when first time viewing though.
