It seems like they stopped showing the inside and back art right around the time customers were complaining about Pan and Dumbo's artwork.

I kinda agree what you're saying and I assume the other artwork for this will also be disspointing looking at past releases. But jungle book and the little mermaid both had dissapointing art and were not shown prior release

I'm not saying that I want a gorgeous, complex backart with plenty of elements (Wonderland flourishes with backart-worthy pictures, take advantage of that, Zavvi) and not just a detail of the front art put in the middle on its own, but I want a gorgeous, complex backart with plenty of elements (Wonderland flourishes with backart-worthy pictures, take advantage of that, Zavvi) and not just a detail of the front art put in the middle on its own.

Zavvi showed us they could do it with Peter Pan : fairy dust around Tinker Bell or not, I prefer that over them doing a copy/past over Timothy the floating mouse or a table with candles. Let's see them do it again with Alice in Wonderland (and if they changed Dumbo and Lady & the Tramp to something unique, I'd be very happy).

I expect a flat matte finish. If it don't say gloss in the listing you can be damn sure it aint gonna have it. This is why its taking so long to sell out at this low run for a Disney Classic. If it said gloss in the title it would have sold out in a matter of a couple days.

You have a point. If it was going to be glossy, they would probably advertise that.

Edit: then again, Despicable Me 2 didn't advertise anywhere that it was glossy and it turned out being glossy... Time will tell.

I expect that one to have a premium matte finish. There is a difference and the mockup on the site makes this thing look washed out. Remember that most mockups look better than the actual product for the Disney stuff lately.

I don't remember Aladdin being sold as having a gloss finish. At this point it is anyone's guess what the finish on this will be like. I hope they learned their lesson with Little Mermaid.

Picked this and man of steel up from HMV for £17.99 each. Quite a nice steel and a great movie. Also the cheapest price i've seen anywhere.

HMV broadmead Bristol has loads more of these in incase anyone is interested.

the other disney classics like "dumbo", "peter pan" and so on also needed 4-5 days to sell out, "alice" went live on friday, so we're still in the usual time frame.
and i heard there were only a couple of hundred remaining in stock, so i also expect this to sell out in the next 24 hours.

I couldn't agree more but I understand the obession in some sense, I agree with them. Like everyone know's we need gloss. I just wish Zavvi would confirm it so we could stop worying. This is alot to pay for alot of average finish steelbook's
