i was really hoping that would say 'Artwork TBC,' but since it doesn't, that's what we get for this classic: text on black, and nothing on the reverse? :meh:

i think i could do better GIF by Team Coco

the original posters are themselves not very exciting at all, but even that would be better.

Interesting that some of UK vs US steelbooks present a Hobson's choice:
US: Glossy- not embossed
UK: Embossed- but matte finish
I'd prefer glossy over embossing in this case, that they didn't do the title was a big oversight imo. Actually isn't it debossing? There's no frame.

It's not huge though, the matte isn't streaky and that's usually what ruins it for me, I think the steel is fine.

Yes, it comes with a bluray disc too.

Does it really?
Heck, I might pick it up then now. I wasn't going to drop on it for just a 4k. There was zero info about a blu ray too. I take it that it's the remastered 1080p movie on the blu ray?
Or is it just special features?

The blu-ray has the movie and special features, haven't checked what's on the 4k disc. Can't tell if it's remastered or not though.

I would be shocked if that Blu-ray turns out to be remastered. I can't remember the last time Warner did one alongside a new catalogue 4K release. The US Steelbook is 4K disc only and if they had gone to the trouble of issuing a new disc they would have put it in that one as well, plus the current disc isn't some crummy old VC1 with lossy audio from the very early days it's a fairly decent MPEG 4 AVC transfer with lossless audio from 2011. So I don't see them going to the effort. Speed Racer would be a much deserving cause for a remastered blu alongside the new 4K transfer on purely technical terms as that is a crummy early VC1 transfer with lossy audio. That said I don't think that will get one either as all the evidence points to Warner having no policy for some time now of caring to do new transfers on Blu-ray if it's not a brand new film.
