We're excited to share Prime Air — something the team has been working on in our next generation R&D lab.

The goal of this new delivery system is to get packages into customers' hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles.

Putting Prime Air into commercial use will take some number of years as we advance the technology and wait for the necessary FAA rules and regulations.

Check out this footage from a recent test flight.

This is probably far away. There's several problems and things that can go wrong with this lol.

But love the idea nonetheless!

I don't see this happening, since there are states in the US that have banned drones on their airspace, in order to avoid the usage of said things as means to strike against a u.s. citizen. I can see the US government trying to use this to push for Drones to fly and operate inside the US. We'll see.

Personally other than thinking it was all a Cyber Monday promotion. Try and look at the figures logically. How many parcels does Amazon.com Prime ship, then think of the sheer number of drones needed and then how much they will cost. Sheer blue sky (or is it cloud) thinking methinks. I did like Waterstones OWLS spoof on this mind. :hilarious:
