The buildings on the bottom of the jacket looks decent but the rest is meh. There were lots of other entries that were better IMO.

Back art looks good but not sure how anyone could think the front is a good idea, looks crap and lazy IMO, hopefully FA releases a steelbook sometime

Don't know why I even bother getting excited about these fan art competitions. The winners are always sub-standard, amateur efforts, and this is no exception. American Psycho just stings a bit more (than something like Machete Kills) as its one of my all-time favourite films, and have been waiting for this release for what seems like an eternity. Completely agree the front art looks far too much like a "Hitman" game.

I think to have the buildings and skyline incorporated into it is a good idea. A plain black jacket just ruins it though, you don't even know it's Christian Bale. The back art does look better but even that wouldn't work at the front as its too bare.

I'm just glad we're finally getting this film as a steelbook, especially after all the delays. I feel like we get so many obscure films made into steelbooks when there's still plenty of movies like this that deserve the treatment.

Yes agreed but this deserved way better artwork

Seems odd that with a winner announced, LionsgateUK have made no mention of it anywhere suggesting to me that the negative feedback across the net on this is making them think again about the finished product.

day 1 purchase. if this ends up being region B i'll have to switch my aussie blu with it.

really wish they would have incorporated the business cards some how.

Does anyone have any screen grabs (or anything else) to compare from the Australian version? It seems to be what everyone prefers over other versions. I've only seen the US blu-ray, so I'm curious what the differences are.

The caps-a-holic site has comparisons. The Lionsgate US/UK BD has edge enhancement and poor compression. It looks like a DVD in comparison to the Sony AU BD, which isn't perfect and seems to have DNR. What it needs is a 4K remaster, but in the meantime the AU BD is the best version:

Edge enhancement

Yikes

Less detail

More EE

Also macroblocking

Street sign

The only reason to buy this Lionsgate steelbook is if you love the artwork or have to have the film on steelbook, and have no intention of watching the disc.

Looks like I'll be buying the Oz version then. As this art stinks. Really hoping another country gets a steel of this region free, with better art.

Majority of collectors here seem not bothered about AV quality. Whenever I use these terms I get bullied. [emoji15]

I would have thought that this is important. Personally I feel that a steelbook is "extra" as in that bit more special where we pay a bit more to receive the best feature rich contents and packaging. It's unfortunately not for example with captain America we've had 3 UK versions and it took 3 releases to get the 3D disc included in a steelbook. I understand businesses operate to make money but then we have specialist sellers like film arena which try to cover some of the things we don't always get.

That's part of the deal for me. If the image quality especially is inferior then no amount of good art can get me to buy it.

They are orthogonal. Just because you have a great SteelBook, doesn't mean you have great AV quality.

However to each his own. I'm interested in AV quality to a degree, but not to the point of graphing the bandwidth in a chart. If my eyes can't tell the difference, then I don't worry about it.

They are all a helluva lot better than VHS and DVD.
