Is it confirmed that this steelbook will have the 1080i version or is this assumed because of the regular bluray version that was released on Zavvi recently?

I would assume it will be the same as the regular UK version. Either way, the Australian version seems to be the preferred transfer.

Hats off to you. Looks absolutely stunning.
Now all you have to do is get a gloss finish on it to protect the artwork (the stickers) and you're done! Unique, one of a kind item.

Generally I prefer 1080p over 1080i. The US version is 1080p.
Though reading through the reviews of the Australian version, I get the impression there is quite a bit of improvement which I hadn't realized:

What they don't mention, is that 1080i will always have obvious strobing with significant camera movement.
I bet the chainsaw scene strobes quite a bit. Interlaced and Progressive are not the same. The differences are not minor. There is a VERY good reason Interlaced discs are no longer produced.

Yep a few times and others have they don't seem to reply but they don't seem to reply to any of my tweets even if it's a simple question like Whens the payment come out for a zbox

It was announced in the same wave of zavvi's Gangs of New York and The Departed steels which got delayed, so if they were going to delay it I'm surprised they didn't move it back to the same date as them already. So now we have no idea of the release date..Cue a few more months of anticipation and checking the page daily.

I don't know what you are all talking about. I've had my Zavvi steelbook of this for weeks. I really liked the inclusion of the Huey Lewis and the News commentary track. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to return some videotapes...
