Deliveries from Zavvi usually come from Guernsey and have a customs sticker as part of the address label.
Just checked the new packaging for this and it has a return address for Warrington and no customs info. So probably shipped through a third party on Zavvi's behalf.
 
So I sent this photo of my damaged steelbook to Zavvi...

And this was their response...

"With the image provided I was unable to locate any damaged, seems the small circled areas are part of the design and it seems the light is covering the other."

Please tell me whether you can all spot the damage in that photo, because it seems pretty clear to me. Those small circled areas are paint chips fyi, and NOT a part of the design.

Zavvi have always used different packaging from their Warrington warehouse so this isn't anything new. The white boxes will still be used from the Guernsey one.

@Noodles that is some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. My reply to such a response would not be pretty.

Just one of the many reasons why I can't stand Zavvi. I actually expected some sort of an idiotic response ("here's a 10% refund as a goodwill gesture"), but their reply is just taking the piss! Going to leave it a few hours before I get back to them, because I wouldn't be doing myself any favours with what I feel like saying at the moment. :muted:

They are blind. Order another and send that back for full refund!
That is what I planned to do mate and have already ordered a replacement, but now I'm considering cancelling it and just trying my luck on eBay.

I hate zavvi so much but can't stay away from ordering certain films from time to time due to a lack of options ...

That had crossed my mind, and I've also been wondering what state the replacement might be in. But others who recently ordered seem to be getting good copies, so it's possible I just got unlucky.

I actually gave my original copy to my mate for his birthday, since he's not a collector and doesn't mind it already being opened (his words), so I'm no longer in a rush to receive this and obtaining it from elsewhere seems like the best thing to do at the moment... especially as I honestly can't be doing with having to deal with Zavvi's chimps any longer.

Oh and eveyone else don't get your hopes up for that new packaging. My cabin fever came in a standard white box

They really are mate. While their reply annoyed me, it didn't exactly surprise me... I always expect the worst whenever Zavvi are involved.

Glad to see others weren't so unlucky though and are receiving mint copies of this stunning release! :)

that why I hate zavvi.
My German Codename Uncle had a painting error so I send it back for full refund, no problems with amazon. I dont know why zavvi is so retarded.

I'm happy to send you a pic if you want for comparison. And that reply is some of the worse customer service I've ever heard of. If I treated a customer as they do I'd be picking up my P45! So sorry to hear that mate but that would rile me to say the very least!

send them a sarcastic reply saying I'm sorry i didn't realise the bloody great dent was part of the design

I've been reading your posts in this thread since you placed the order and can't help but laugh at your misfortune, you also have my sympathy at the same time. This is something I think most members here have gone through at some point!

Opened mine now to check it and luckily it's mint, that said glad I only paid £6 for it as the finish is nice but the art in hand is just as bad as the mock up images, truly crap "imo" but I don't own the film on bluray and now do.
