That's the issue, i would assume group buy is a guarantee of an order, where as the website is a gamble if stock goes fast or has site issues or whatever.
I could be wrong, but I'm doubtful anyone will have a problem buying loose editions direct since this was never a mainstream movie (box office flop). As already mentioned, you might want to join a GB if you want a OC. Then again, it might end up being easy to get a one click direct.

I highly doubt that it will be super easy to get a OneClick. Scalpers have realized the cult-potential of this movie (look at what the zavvi steel is going for these days) and 300 is really low for a box set like that and it has an almost guaranteed value increase of 70-100% instantly......
Box Office success doesn't really translate to steelbook collectibility, whereas a niche cult film like this most likely will not have too many more premium editions going forward. Expect a bloodbath, but only for the OneClick....

@samdavies - please just put one aside for me, my nerves couldn't handle the stress :D

Are most of you guy's concerned about the OC then?
Glad I decided against it and to just pick up a solo...then again, you guys who buy the OC usually will try and buy singles as well.

It's going to be fun.

Remember, don't let fomo get you. At the end of the day, it's just a film...

Yeah Right Smile GIF by Apple TV
Would you be concerned if only 15/20% were available direct?

Of the OC. Actual figures, assuming all GB copies sell out. There's a much higher % of singles available direct.

Yep. I see why the OC collectors are worried. I think if i had made the choice of picking that up, I'd definitely go with one of the GBs, either here or DBossd to secure one.
It would have been nice to see more OCs direct from Astros website but I completely get the reasons why it's not that way on this second release.

I do remember us having a hypothetical discussion about a possible future film pick on the original post. After that unforeseen Truman Show coincidence with Manta, Annihilation was mentioned several times and I think we all pretty much said it would sell through with no issues fairly quickly. Looks like that'll happen.
You know what, that's a great thing for everyone to be honest. Hopefully a smashing success will lead to many more in the future.

Yep, exactly that. Didn't want to overexpose himself so early on. Assuming the next title is up to the same caliber, it's very likely the OC run will be increased next time.

Yeah, annihilation was discussed here, but it wasn't for me to confirm that at the time. It was decided on quite a while back, but it would be daft to promise it before the contract was signed with Paramount. Yes, I'm really hoping it's a huge success for him, helping facilitate future projects.
