As you can see from the above image of the UK Blu-ray release, also identical to that used for the UK DVD Amaray and Steelbook releases, the cover art for Zavvi's Steelbook does differ substantially from those earlier releases.

The Zavvi artwork is missing both the Mayan pyramids and Jaguar Paw's pursuers. Also, without the light from their torches, the only touch of colour left in the image is that of the sun, eclipsed by the C of the title. The overall effect of the Zavvi artwork also appears more washed out than before, although this may be down to the quality of the image in the original post.

I think this is a fantastic film and I'm glad it is getting a Steelbook release. I'll certainly be ordering it. I just wish that they hadn't tampered with the original artwork, as the new cover art appears emptier in comparison. At least we've been spared some of the more abstract artwork that has marred so many of Zavvi's Studio Canal titles.

All we need now is a price of £14.99 to match that of Zavvi's previous Icon releases and I will be very happy.

Are we sure it's the final art, because it could be just a placeholder.

I hope you're right that the image in the original post is merely a placeholder and that the final artwork will be that of the original release. I'm not optimistic though. Guess we'll find out for sure, one way or the other, this weekend.
