One of the things I love about America Is that they are very proud and Patriotic people. We don't even celebrate St George's Day anymore - it's seen as English, Rather than British.
I get the Health Care issues, but unless you don't work , work limited hours, or you are retired, you have to pay for monthly health charges. (National Insurance) and then almost £9 for ONE set of medication on a prescription, so if your prescribed 3 sets of tablets, that's a lot of money! I paid something like £2000 insurance last year and I went to the doctors twice. You pay that amount, regardless.
In my opinion, the UK has lost it's identity and the downfall was when it joined the EU. We also have had a lot of people come into the country and they do not contribute anything to the economy. It's just no longer the place I grew up in. You cannot say anything for fear of being prejudice and it seems not working and abusing the benefits system is more rewarding than earning an honest wage and paying your taxes.
Our government lost the plot years ago. They have no b @lls! I do not hate my country, but I fear from my children and what rubbish they will have to face.
The best part: We have a beautiful countryside and huge amounts of history and landmarks, of which I am very proud of as an Englishman. We have a good transport network, I must say that. If you enjoy rain, this is the place to be, we are spoiled with it here!
And we have Fish and Chips. I was born in Birmingham, so if you ever dropped in, you would need to try a Balti!
I love hearing different perspectives on America. I didn't realize you had to pay for insurance as well, I was under the impression it was all free. Cost of medications vary here, I've paid $10 for a bottle of what I pay $25 for now after switching insurers.
Your third and fourth paragraphs sound like what the racists here say, but I don't know your country's situation too well, so I'm not calling you racist! But can those claims of not contributing and abusing benefits be said for all races there? I know that it's not limited to minorities here.
Never heard of Baltis but you can find fish and chips some places here, like at bars.

There can only be onewhich person alive or dead would you most like to slap in the face ?

I love it!
@PKAVFC LOL!
Alyssa is the same way, the sight of ANY bug will scare the living crap out of her! Especially when they fly!
Her reactions are always priceless! FEAR turns into tears!I love it!

I am the same. Especially when we are watching a scary movie- making her jump is priceless. On average, she stops talking to me for 30 minutes.
You can't beat fish and chips! Yeah, the insurance comes out of your pay packet, but like I said, if you do not work/cannot work, are retired or a child under 16, you don't pay.
I see your point about "what racists say" - but your right, I am no racist- white, black, brown or purple... Each person should contribute to the economy. If you take out of the pot, you should be putting in too, kind of situation. I maintain the government has messed up on a lot of things.
In any case, I did not mention race.
My job has put me into a lot of different situations over the years. I have seen how the system is manipulated first hand and I guess that's why I feel comfortable with my thoughts- there's no bad intention.
Plus I am half English, Half Mexican!!
I have helped people from all communities and backgrounds- helping people makes me feel good.
I have been subject to racial abuse during my line of work, but it really does not bother me. You can't reason with small minded people like that.
And Baltis are Delicious! I love Asian/Indian food![]()
Ahh, you have single-payer universal healthcare. I've read requests for that here.
I agree, everyone should contribute (except for disabled people who can't work). I know there are people who take advantage of that and fake disabilities.
I wonder how the racism there compares to the racism here. I'm half Asian, half Caucasian and haven't really dealt with racists outside the internet since grade school.
I'm flying to Germany for Christmas and intentionally chose British Airways so I could have my layovers in London. Maybe they'll have baltis in the airport...
bring a nice warm coat too!
