Got this today from HMV, loads in stock and all mint. I got home and whilst trying to unlock my front door I managed to drop the bag on the floor containing this and 3 other steelbooks. Heard a horrible bang and the other 3 steelbooks survived but this one wasn't so lucky. Big dent on the top corner :(

Just finished watching this movie again and I must say it is f ing amzing! It was actually the first time me watching it on a Blu-Ray: watched it in a theatre a couple of times and on a DVD. I still can't believe The Hurt Locker was awarded an Oscar over this (not that The Hurt Locker is a bad film). On the other hand, who really cares? :hilarious:

Since we do not have a reprint/overstock of this steel here in Canada, I went and bought myself a copy of this thing (which is actually quite amazing):

Wish I had a steel, but this will do for now :D

I do believe that eventually this piece of cinema will get a grail release that I will get my hands on ;)

I found a few at my local HMV but a lot of them are scruffy shrink wrap, a few had dents and marks, lots of shrink wrap marks so don't even know if its scratches on the steel itself, and quite a few had tears.

Although a lot of them are flooding in stock, a lot of them would not pass OCD collectors.

an Avatar steelbook with a DVD instead of a 3D disc.

:ugh:

they keep getting away with dumb **** like this, cause u hardcore guys don't even open and watch the movies inside ur steelbooks right? :movie:

Im with you on this to some extent.....distributors must know a selected few keep these sealed which in my opinion are OCD collectors. These one day will lose every ounce of value as did hd dvd and dvd steelbooks and special editions did. I think majority open the steels on this forum as they are movie lovers like myself and do wish to watch the main thing they are purchasing unless bought for trade or profit. Distributors will keep selling bare bones discs with steelbooks as long as we keep buying them just looks at previous play releases.

I'm glad this "dumb ****" doesn't have the 3d discs just like all the other releases that don't because i couldn't give a toss about 3D and certainly don't want to pay a premium for it

This 'dumb ****' was also issued long before the 3D BD was ever released, it's not like they've just reprinted it and didn't bother. Some people complain about anything.

yeah, why pay a premium for a 3D movie when u can pay a premium instead for a nice free sticker on the shrink warp :D or a nice extra little piece of colored paper on the SB, which u can wipe yur ass on if yur running low :D
