So do people reckon this will go fast? On one hand AoU isn't the most popular film (even though I like it), and it's already had a couple of premium releases so far. Idk, but I'm going to risk it and not do a group buy, hopefully their servers are better than they've been previously.

Their servers are fine now

Part of me is tempted to get the box set even though I shifted most of my Nova full slips months ago. If someone wanted to change their order how does that work in the new group buy system?

That's good news, I heard they were upgrading them but haven't been looking at any of their releases recently to see if they'd actually done it. I've never actually bought anything from them directly, the few releases of theirs I have are from ebay, so I only witnessed the meltdowns over the services through forums, I never experienced the horror for myself.

Worldwide: $1,405,403,694
Domestic: $459,005,868
China: $240,110,000
South Korea: $78,286,828

It isnt the most popular film compared to what? If that's not popular, then i dont know what is...

He is right, it's not the most popular. Most people I know who watch the mcu think its weak.

I don't take sales into account with these films because at the cinema everyone wants to see it to carry on the mcu story and it's always going to do well on home release due to it being marvel and people wanting to own the full lineup of films

It's not my favourite and I own 4 steels with a possible 5th lol whereas I much prefer guardians but only own 2 steels.
AOU has had a lot of steel releases and marvel/ steel fans will buy most anyway causing them always sell out and make money if the film is good or bad

Plus it's avengers. Good or bad fans will want to see it just to see everyone fighting along side each other in film (and they have done the hulk well In Both films tbh)

To be fair, just coz a movie did well on the box office doesn't mean it's popular. It just means a lot of people paid to see it in theaters. It doesn't mean the people who saw it thought it was good. Now apart from some really stupid decisions they made for this movie, I still enjoyed it but there are a lot of people that really hate it and rank it at the bottom of all the MCU movies so yes, it is not that popular.

That's exactly right. A film's box office number's don't contribute to either it's critical reception nor it's popularity.
For instance, I'm sure "popular" or "successful" aren't 2 words you would associate with The Phantom Menace. Yet it did make a whole lot of money.

To be fair, a film doesn't gross as much as this one without a large sum of repeat visits and solid word of mouth implying the general perception was positive

Marvel movies are event movies. Its been said already that people go to continue the MCU story, people take children which attribute alot to the box office too. A box office doesn't dictate the quality of a movie, thats like saying a film that bombed automatically is a crap film?

Get real. Avengers AOU isn't garbage, but it isn't a masterpiece and will likely not make peoples top 5 marvel movie lists, even if them lists were done right now

I doubt that this will be a quick sell out, but I predict that the quarter slips and Iron Man/Hulk slips will sell out in less than a day, followed by the one clicks. Cap and Thor will linger for a bit but will sell out in good time.

Yep

and I agree that word of mouth affects sales good or bad but even if this had bad word of mouth (which it did) people would still see it to continue the mcu

I heard it wasn't great before I see it, still went to see it, loved parts of it but overall wasn't the best and I still bought it multiple times lol

I want to see the finish on the boxset and fullslips before I decide to change my current quarter slip order or not. Its a shame they can't just sell those spare slips we know they have on the down low :thumbs::naughty:;) @Aniv

Also opinions change in an instant. The amount of films I've enjoyed and then watched a second time and thought why did I like that? Or vice versa. Happens to me all the time

I loved dark knight rises at the cinema. A year later thought it was 75% awful and a mess with a few decent scenes. I hated cap 1 when I first see it. Rewatched it years later and loved it

Funny, I thought the exact same about both films

If the movie wasn't popular Word Of Mouth would have prevented lots of people from going to watch it in the movie theaters.
Well, not really in case of the MCU and especially not when it comes to the Avengers. It’s not like fans can leave that movie out coz it's part of the MCU and many things the fans don't like aren't problems for the regular audience (like BW/Hulk etc). And it is a fun movie, I'd watch it in theaters again BUT when compared to the other MCU movies, it just has too many issues or better doesn't offer enough. The number of times I have seen people rank AoU in their top 5 I can count at one hand whereas the number it's at the bottom you'd need a lot more hands.

And I agree, opinions change. When I watched CW in theaters, I loved it. I even went to watch it a second time. Man was I disappointed with it when I watched it the 3rd time at home. I still have a kinda split view on it and while I enjoy it again for what it is, it's nowhere near the top of my list.

That being said, I love the slips and I love the steel so this is a no brainer for me.
