He is right, it's not the most popular. Most people I know who watch the mcu think its weak.

I don't take sales into account with these films because at the cinema everyone wants to see it to carry on the mcu story and it's always going to do well on home release due to it being marvel and people wanting to own the full lineup of films

It's not my favourite and I own 4 steels with a possible 5th lol whereas I much prefer guardians but only own 2 steels.
AOU has had a lot of steel releases and marvel/ steel fans will buy most anyway causing them always sell out and make money if the film is good or bad

Plus it's avengers. Good or bad fans will want to see it just to see everyone fighting along side each other in film (and they have done the hulk well In Both films tbh)

To be fair, just coz a movie did well on the box office doesn't mean it's popular. It just means a lot of people paid to see it in theaters. It doesn't mean the people who saw it thought it was good. Now apart from some really stupid decisions they made for this movie, I still enjoyed it but there are a lot of people that really hate it and rank it at the bottom of all the MCU movies so yes, it is not that popular.

That's exactly right. A film's box office number's don't contribute to either it's critical reception nor it's popularity.
For instance, I'm sure "popular" or "successful" aren't 2 words you would associate with The Phantom Menace. Yet it did make a whole lot of money.
I think i was unclear on what i was trying to say.
The original comment was "AoU is not the most popular film". That's why i asked "not popular compared to what?" Because i wanted to know in which context they were rating the movie's popularity. Are you saying it's not popular among CBM fans? Or it's not popular among critics? Or it's not popular in terms of how many people have seen the film? Generally, when a movie earns more than a billion dollars at the box office, i would consider that "popular".

So many people have seen the film which means so many people know about the film. Since more people have seen this film, there are chances of more people liking the film. Which means a retailer can afford to take a risk on releasing on DVD/BD and more than likely it will sellout. Why? Because it's popular compared to a movie like Southpaw, which came out in the same year. Does it mean it's a better film? Absolutely not. That's subjective. What retailers look for are facts. And NM can't take a risk on Southpaw, only PA can because they know their audience.
So when NM decides to release Age of Ultron or The Phantom Menace, they know these movies made more than a billion dollars and that, more than likely, there are people across the world willing to own it. It doesnt matter if the film was good or bad. They don't need to care.

Now, this is simply "popular" based on how well known it is & how many people may have seen the film, and how that relates to a retailer making a decision to release a premium edition. Now, if you're talking critical acclaim or if comic book movie fans loved/hated it, then it's another story, which i won't comment on. ;)

Also, like @blu-steel said, if it's not a popular film it would've made much less at the box office. If you dont believe me, i'll give you the most recent example i can think of, take a look at King Arthur (2017). I loved that movie; i like it more than AoU. But it's NOT a popular film. AFAIK, only 1 retailer is doing a premium release and that's limited to 300 or 500 copies.

I've said everything i need to say about the popularity of this film and I agree with blu-steel about word of mouth but there are some films that just won't affect and this is one of them. People will just want to continue watching where the MCU ends up and as it was a avengers film where you get to see hulk fight along side ironman (and against) and fight along side Thor etc it's still going to bring in a humongous amount of ticket sales and like I said same for home media because everyone who loves MCU will want it for the collection and as for the steels - well the majority of us are mad and addicted. We will by most MCU releases

Although this could of been better I can't compare this to Arthur in terms of film, sales and steel releases. Different kettle of fish

Man I wish the magnet was a slip. Magnets don't look good to me, especially not this one against that steel

I still can't work out why it wasn't originally designed as a slip

Officially novas most retarded desicion and no consistency with all their other lenti editons especially avengers 1

Makes it easier to pass though. Doing us a favour:cigar:;)

I was going to but then the shots of the actual steel and now the lenti video has turned me

I'm even more p*ssed because I have a strange way of displaying mine by taking the steel out the slip and keeping them separate in poly bags. So I have slip then steel, slip then steel and so on and this one will look weird next to my avengers lenti lol

I think I have a solution though

I felt exactly the same. Was definitely tempted but not anymore.

That magnet doesn´t fit to this steelbook, that´s true, but it looks bloody sharp and deep :wow:
And I completely agree. I love the effect of the different lines having different depths that's why I want it on a slip. Tis a shame its on a magnet.

"*SteelBook Made in Denmark.*"

Is that a first for Nova? I thought the only Asian retailer that imported its steels directly from Denmark was Plain Archive.

Shame really because for me the ideal Nova AoU set would be these NE14 3 full slip's and the NC 07 Lenti, that way it would be so consistent with their Avengers NE 05

the magnet is extra. most quarter slips don't even have a magnet lenti.

this is going to look very cool with the great steelbook artwork and great lenti magnet image choice.

imo... trying to collect all the full slips is a fools errand. you gotta buy all 3 just to get the whole gang, whereas this quarter slip with lenti has the whole gang in one edition, as it always should be.

As I need to continue my Nova exclusive fullslip line, it is Thor/Wanda slip C for me, but I´m not exactly happy about that holoc*ap though :squint:

Why is the Avengers Age of Ultron logo at the top and bottom of the image? Its not like that in the mock up/beauty shot.

It's one of those things with the holofoil, some love it and some hate it, some will complain these slips have it and others would complain if they didn't have continuity with the first Avengers fullslips. Can't please everybody...
