Nope, I imagine it'll be for all orders! I ordered as part of the 20% off.

Will see cause i just checked my account in hmv and my orders still there and they didnt cancel it. If they cancel it then im going to hmv on release date just near my place :)

How come i didnt received any email about 3x copy per customer from hmv?

Well I ordered more than 3. I'll bet this sells out on pre-order.

I wonder how limited the run is, I would have assumed 10k before this email :?

I'm just curious on the wording of the email, and where it's come from. I've actually re-read T&C's, the actual item and my current orders. Nowhere does it actually say "restricted to 3 per person" and my order is still 5 (OK I'll admit it). I'm not that bothered if reduced to 3 in all honesty just severely pi**ed at the way they've done it. Looks like 2013 might start without HMV if they carry on these sorts of business practices.

EDIT

Yup same email as Ant 2 posts down. Think this calls for stroppy customer time. Pin back your lugholes (ears) HMV I'm coming your way

Just got my email - it stinks a bit and I think it might be because they've seen the demand and regret including it in the 20% off deal!

Dear hmv customer,

I am writing to you in regards to your order for the following item:

Cat.No: BUY0183601 Barcode: 8717418358563 &nb sp; & nbsp;
Artist: WHEDON-DIR, JOSS: CHRIS HEMSWORTH: ROBERT DOWNEY JR:
Title : AVENGERS ASSEMBLE: HMV EXCLUSIVE: STEELBOOK

Unfortunately, this item is limited to 3 per customer. This is due to the limited nature of this item; we have restricted numbers in order to ensure as many of our customers receive the item. We sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused.

As stated within our terms and conditions governing sales on hmv.com, hmv has not yet taken payment from you for the goods listed above nor, indeed, taken the final step of confirming the shipment of your order to you by email (please see point b. in the section entitled 'The Contract Between US' on the first page of our Terms and Conditions). As such, we will regrettably need to amend your order to a maximum of 3 per customer.

Please note that you have not been charged for this order, as we only charge when we ship the item. I do understand that this will be disappointing to you, and we trust you will understand that this has been done to ensure as many customers as possible will receive the item.

Please accept our apologies for any disappointment caused.

It's hard because in a way it's good as it stops the people who are only interested in selling it on to make money but then it's unfair on the guys that want to buy multiple copies to help people overseas out.

I have no sympathy for the ones that have ordered to resell, but for the guys who have ordered to help others out on here....that sucks!

Spot on with your comment their cooey.

I have pre-ordered a few copies to help some long standing contacts on here out - will now have to go in-store as well I guess - bit of a pain, but there we go..

I ordered 5 copies with the 20% off code and I received an email today to say as this is a limited title, I am only allowed to order 3 in total! So they have automatically adjusted the amount on my order from 5 to 3!

So the total to order is 3 guys, it's a waste of time ordering more :0(

Obvious solution is to buy additional copies in-store and work out the average price of those and the 3 at the 20% off and split amongst those anyone is helping - that way everyone gets some discount rather than 2 or 3 getting the cheap deal and everyone else paying full price?.....

Looks like I may have to cancel the one from Canada, I didnt know the cover looked like that. Love it with no title. I wish they did it more.

How are they controlling the 3 per customer exactly?. Couldn't you just make a different account or pay with a different card or have them deliverd to a different address etc?.

Obviously it's three per account or three per address. How can they possibly know if one person is ordering more than three if they're using different addresses, cards or accounts? :hilarious:

The whole point is to make it difficult for someone to order more than three. It's just like instore limits, it's to stop people walking out with armfuls of stuff.

So it really isn't an issue then. If you're willing to open a few more accounts that is :naughty:
