Arrived today, spine slash through the second b in Bambi Ordered a replacement, will send this back on Monday...............

Returned home last night after working away all week to be greeted with my copies of Bambi, Brave and Cinderella.

Fortunately, all three are in mint condition with no spine slashes or other defects - so far as I can see, anyway.

Very impressed with all three, and definitely a return to the standards set initially by the releases of Aladdin and Finding Nemo. Now, if only they could have maintained these same high standards for all their other Disney releases in-between for consistency...

First time i've ever had this problem with zavvi,a nice chunk out of the Brave steelbook on the spine and fully enough a slice through the second b on the bambi title on the spine.
Think vorhees was going overboard whilst opening these

Just got an email from Zavvi about may damaged steel.

I was a bit mad about all this, and confronted them about their spine-slashing problems, and as "a gesture of goodwill" as they put it, they offer me CRAZY 15% OF WHAT I PAID, TRANSFERRED BACK! Oh my I mean really? I'm flattered Zavvi I really am. That much for a problem that 80% of steelbook-buyers experience when buying steels from you?



Oh well, I guess that was my last steelbook purchase from Zavvi...

I dont think I have ever seen so many reported slashed spines for a steelbook let alone a whole wave. I just know one of mine is gonna be slashed. I really hope Im in the 1-10% or whatever of people that got all mint copies. Im 1/3 so far but my outlook isnt bright lol

If you say no to the offer they will arrange for you to send it back thats how it works dont understand why everyone moans. When they offer you 15% back its their way of saying you can keep it

like Ben said you don't need accept 15% discount offer . just sent them message you want return this item and prefer replacement or full refund 100% they will reply in 24 h with return collect plus label.

i don't think 80% of steelbooks are faulty either probably is just easier make a post when goes something wrong than post how nice this steel is and frankly I'm glad about it because nobody wants read 2000-3000 posts- "recived today , superb steel and mint "

I haven't bought **** from them in a long time. But still, they are the only ones selling their exclusives, so if I want otherwise awesome steels, I have to expect it might not arrive at my house in a awesome condition. Still not something that should be accepted so...

But yeah, this time, I am officially done. Can't believe y'all are willing to put up with their **** cause of a stupid hobby... We are a whole forum that besically controls them cause of our huge number of members, and still we put up with their bad packaging, bad costumer service and completely unacceptable lies they throw at us all the time.

I gave up On zavvi a long time ago... Sometimes it's good to go through an alternative source and save yourself the headache if you feel like it's not working out

David sources certain zavvi steels through gb if one was interested in obtaining a mint copy

At the end of the day, if you have unpleasant experiences with a retailer, common sense tells you to take your custom elsewhere if possible. As alvinhwang21 said, there are plenty of other avenues to obtain these titles without going directly through Zavvi. As for everyone else putting up with the things you mentioned, personally I haven't had any major issues with Zavvi. I'm currently trying to sort out some copies of Cinderella, but accept that they aren't Amazon and it is going to take a little longer than with other retailers. I know what I am going to get with Zavvi though and I choose to use them anyway.

If there was any competition then hands down customers would take their custom elsewhere. But there is none (Amazon and Kimchi are not what I'd call competitors) , so for the love of exclusives, looks like putting up with Zavvi's questionable customer service is what you'll have to do.

It only took a few seconds but I checked the spine and it had the dreaded slash. I have no intention of keeping it and will try for a replacement. This process could take forever...
