Just unboxing mine. Comparing to the US versions, they are much much better. The US version has the washed out effect when holding the steelbook at an angle, much like the white UK steelbooks of Premium Collection.

Very impressed.

I haven't seen the recent US versions but I agree these have turned out very nicely, not hi gloss but no dull matte either

I have got to compare the original CA steelbook release of the 1989 film and this kicks it's ass :scat:

Today's mini haul. Wanted to compare how the UK versions gathered against the US version. My original choice was to cancel the UK once I'd got the US releases, but I decided to keep the order. Glad I did. The UK version IS the superior steelbook of this set (I think Europe will get the UK version)

UK - Batman
Matte finish but has a sheen to it, unlike the US version which is dull looking. Also the rear does not feature the losing of the image when holding at a certain angle which the US version exhibits. (think of the UK Premium Collection).

Has anyone else noticed any scratches on the front of this SteelBook? Notably to the left of the "B" in "Batman"?

I received my haul yesterday, but my Batman has a huge scratch down the side of the Batman logo. I promptly contacted Amazon, who dispatched a replacement out ASAP. Received the replacement today, and this one also has a similar scratch in the same place!

Just wondering whether this is a more common fault, or whether I'm just the unluckiest SteelBook collector on the planet...

I had a long wavy scratch in the exact same place, but needs to be in the right light and angle to see it clearly. Unfortunately, I also got a spineslash on my copy of Batman Returns. So I've got replacements on the way from Amazon for both of those.

We'll see if I also end up receiving a replacement Batman with the same issue. Should show up sometime tomorrow.

Both of mine have long wavy scratches in roughly the same place, but not identical. Like yours, they have to be held in the right light to see (making them difficult to photograph), but they are definitely visible to the naked eye, and can be easily felt through the shrinkwrap

It's a strange one, with a spineslash or certain other defects/flaws, you can generally understand how they got there. But a wavy scratch like that, it's kind of difficult to fathom what actually caused it.

I'm just glad I ordered from Amazon, as although they're now slow in delivering new titles, their customer service is second to none.

I had this problem on my Batman & Robin copy, it turned out it wasnt a scratch it was a very fine long sticker mark that looked the double of a scratch. Nothing a little spit and my jumper sleeve couldnt fix ;)

Cheers, if either of my replacements show up with the same issue tomorrow, I'll just give that a shot :D

I've ordered another replacement, which will hopefully arrive tomorrow. I'll revisit this thread then in order to report what I receive. If this third copy has the same flaw, then it's clearly a more widespread manufacturing issue (similar to the Jack Reacher issue)

Good to know. I'd held off on ordering these but if it's just a minor issue then it should be fine. I'll probably be opening these to watch at some point, so I'll tidy up any marks then.

Anyone know the problem with Batman Steelbook? It's now been removed from sale on Amazon uk as a customer has indicated the item is not as advertised?::wtf:
