Love it...and as I've zero interest in the other three, the lack of aesthetic continuity doesn't aggravate my OCD.

Come on Amazon, ship it. SHIP. IT!

I must admit that up until the French release I was holding out hope that the stock image was wrong. My second line of thought was maybe WB had lost the use of the bat-question mark logo for some reason. But it seems not.

Seriously? No one in the design team said 'umm, why are we putting the logo on the back of just this one?'. It makes no sense whatsoever. I really wouldn't have minded (possibly prefered) if they'd used the actual poster art on the fronts and their re-jigged logo designs on the back, just pick a theme and stick with it.

Hopefully by the time WB release any Superman steelbooks (you know they will), maybe they'll sort these kind of decisions out. Knowing them, they'll probably put the Man of Steel logo on them all instead.

Just awesome :scat:
Thanks for the pics
Had they switched the front & back art maybe they wouldn't have had enough room for the title & the entire "?" logo :p
Anywho, I agree that they would've probably looked just as good the other way around
...certainly would've matched the others better ;)
Inside art is perfect though, that's for sure :naughty:

Wow!!!!
Yeah such a shame! That would have been EPiC (for a so-so movie). Would have completed the collection more nicely IMO.

Im sure somewere will release it. But for now im just happy we have got all batman movies in steel form (apart from Adam west batman).

I love this movie, definitely more of a follow on to tim burtons movies than batman and robin.

But if only they kept a lot of these scenes in, they were thinking of doing a directors cut including these scenes back in 2005 but they never did, really hope one day they do and keep it dark like tim burtons vision.

Batman forever: Alternate, darker directors cut footage

So it must have been at least two muppets that cocked it up, one to put the image the wrong way around and one to approve it.
Maybe they will sort it out and this will become a real collectable.

Postie's just dropped mine off (Amazon) and although I've yet to remove the shrink, there are no obvious signs of damage (spine-cuts/dents/chips) and the front art looks nice. Looking forward to cracking it open for a proper gander when I get home.

Oh and if Warner want to re-release it with the artwork the 'right way 'round', count me in. :)

This may blow everyones mind, so I will go ahead and question it:

What if this is the only steelbook in the original serious that is "the right way around" and the rest are back to front?

Sh!t. I need to cool down!

It's a thought. But AFAIK the '89 Batman only had the Batsymbol poster art which WB have made look more rusty and put on the front. Essentially, 1, 2 and 4 have used the logo teasers whereas for 3 they've used one of the individual charater posters. The others have used the non-logo posters on the back except for Batman which didn't have one.

I wasn't going to bother with the original four films as I LOATHE this one (and Batman & Robin) but I have to say that the steelbooks look amazing and I'm seriously contemplating adding them to my collection.

I already have the steels for the Nolan films so it would only be right for me to add these as well. Right? RIGHT?!
