BD plays in BDPS350 but not PS3

So I traded someone in Europe (priss perhaps?) a Bug's Life steelbook for the Reservoir Dogs special gas can edition. Since the Disc that comes with the set is Region 2 he took it out and replaced it with a Region 1 version of the film. This is all fair and well and this thread isn't about trying to find out who I traded with. I'm not pissed off at whoever it was, I'm just trying to find out if anyone here has ever heard of a BD playing in one player but not another. I pulled the BD out the other day to watch it and it won't even register on my PS3. It does however play in my Sony BDPS350. The disc clearly says Region 1 on it so I'm a bit baffled. Thoughts?

Oh and so you know, the PS3 is playing other BD's just fine.

It was Priss, and it might be because that orginal region 1 res dogs disc was released wayyyyyyyy back in the days. Days when some would only play on certain players.
