That being said... anyone seen this film? Any good?
A 6.5/10 in my book.. I never hand out 10's and you hafta be amazing to reach an 8.5 or 9 lol. It's a very well made thriller.. handsomely shot and I feel it tries to veer off into the realms of Korean crazy classics territory like OldBoy or The Chaser and doesn't quite reach those stars..but they gave it a good shot and some will be more forgiving than I am.They cut a super trailer for it and I kinda wish the overall film felt more like it: it's got some wild energy and twists but it's also much slower than it would suggest.
Still Korea's kinda blah today overall imo and I appreciate this kind of film still hinting that they have some more up and coming directors who are on their way to bringing things back on course.
Don't like the PA artwork here at all though the artwork on the OST they did is better!
Thanks for sharing!
The trailer actually looks pretty decent, even if I didn't have a clue what they were saying lol.
Now I'm curious though... what films DO you rate 10/10?
Nothing's perfect I guess is my mentality even if some deliver just about everything I would want; that line of thought from Slavoj Zizek rings true to me - film doesn't give what you desire it can only tell you how to desire.
Very, very true.Nothing's perfect I guess is my mentality even if some deliver just about everything I would want; that line of thought from Slavoj Zizek rings true to me - film doesn't give what you desire it can only tell you how to desire.
Not that I go out of my way to talk down any experience.. I love movies afterall, though if you look hard enough you can usually find some elements in just about any fiilm that you don't enjoy quite as much.
That's fair enough then bud, and I do see your point... nothing's perfect, like you said. Although, I rate films by how much I enjoyed them, not by how perfect they are, otherwise I'd probably never rate anything 10/10 either lol.Maybe none?Nothing's perfect I guess is my mentality even if some deliver just about everything I would want; that line of thought from Slavoj Zizek rings true to me - film doesn't give what you desire it can only tell you how to desire.

Woman in the Dunes, His Girl Friday, Rear Window, Blade Runner, Last Life in the Universe, Moving, Don't Look Now, To Live and Die in LA, Hard Boiled, The Burbs, Stalker, In the Mood For Love, Paper Moon, Magnolia, Nosferatu the Vampyre, Memories of Murder, Sexy Beast, Mauvais Sang, Night on Earth, Big Trouble in Little China, Videodrome, Fantastic Planet, Love Exposure, Reconstruction, Unknown Pleasures, Just Before Nightfall, Cowards Bend the Knee, Memento, Thief.. I could go on.![]()
As a lot of you guys know I love Plain Archive but when they release Korean flicks like this can never justify the price for a blind buy but that trailer looks decent!!
I believe they're also doing a deluxe edition of this one at a later date with an additional director's cut disc in the package.
