Ten years ago we were working on a series of posters, just as THE AVENGERS were getting ready for their first cinematic team-up. One poster centered on each Avenger, each from a different artist. At that time, Phantom City Creative crafted an iconic image for Captain America. We had no idea back then that it would set the stage for an exciting new series ... one that we have been referring to internally as "icons."
It took another 9 years (again, happy accident), but we first revisited the idea when PCC came to us with a genius update for Captain America based on "that moment" from AVENGERS: ENDGAME. From there, Mjölner found its way into the hands of the Mighty Thor. Now, we're extremely proud to celebrate another MCU hero who is more than worthy of the "icon" title: King T'Challa, the Black Panther.
PCC continue to elevate their craft, and their work here is among their absolute best. An elegant, powerful ode to a character and film that became a genuine cultural phenomenon. We're very excited about this release and looking forward to continuing this series. We hope you are too.
