Warner Bros. has announced that it will be releasing a 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of Ridley Scott‘s groundbreaking Sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner. The news comes from a photo (below) released on the official Blade Runner Facebook page which states that the release date will be October 2nd of this year. As the studio has previously released an Ultimate Collector’s briefcase edition, it will be interesting to see what this new edition will offer to differentiate itself from the existing version. I’m hopeful that there will be new extras and better packaging than the standard 5 disc amaray case currently available. We will continue to monitor this release and will post updates as further details emerge. Check out the announcement image and tentative artwork below and stay tuned for more information!

Only own the Final cut on blu ray. Really want the 5 disk version so this would be a great alternative since the price has rocketed on the 5 disk.

A steel for the Anniversary would be appreciated too however

Around £40-50 quid on ebay. Not crazy high if you try and justify it by saying £10 a disk

Wish i got into blu rays earlier, would have saved me so much money in the long run haha

I got my 5 disc for around £28, delivered, on eBay. Put it on amazon and it sold for £44!!
I have seen some go for less than £25 on ebay..

..Amazon.co.uk and eBay.co.uk are the best place to buy in the UK. Bewarned though the DVD's included with the Blu-rays don't work on some players in the UK. Worked just fine on my PS3 though! Expecting the price of this to drop very soon though!

Not only that I'm pretty sure it has the most "versions" too. Theatrical, Directors cut, Final cut white print.. I'm sure I'm missing something. It kinda makes your head hurt lol

New transfer? Wasnt the original Blu Ray release a fully remastered version?

Yes,

The final cut was the last remastering of the film as they used up a lot of the originals that they had left. When they say its the final cut they mean it's the final cut it says so on the extras of the 5 disc in one of the interviews. This is just a collectors re-release that has a few new extras, the 5 disc was quite good for extras though they were DVD's Harrison Ford was in it for like 2 mins

I remember importing the 5 disc HD DVD box-set of this, was gutted when I finally decided to sell my collection.

Had the original artwork as well.

Probably my favorite movie & blu-ray of all time, but I doubt if I'll double dip if it's not a new transfer. The extras look sweet though.
