Multiple people had issues with playback on 4k players according to this thread. Although many reference LG UBK80.
The LGUBK80 is a piece of trash anyway. That was my first player before moving to a Panasonic UB820 and then a UB9000. The LG was noisy, had freezing issues and was just a general annoyance. LG may make superb tv's but their players are cheap pieces of tat...

Have you got BD-Live turned on in your Panasonic network settings? If so, try changing it to 'prohibit' to see if that helps.
BD-Live has been known to cause loading issues if turned on...
Thanks for your help but nope… nothing.
I’ve tried turning BD Live off and the issues persists. I am beginning to think it’s something to do with the language screen as that appears first on my ps5 but I can’t get that part to load on my Panasonic, I can hear it staying in a spin cycle and then it throws up the black UHD screen. It also can’t be a disc or a cleaning issue because this is the 3rd disc and all have the same “issue”.

I guess Sony want people to buy their new player really bad

Thanks man. Very strange occurrence….. unless it’s a small bad batch and I’ve been unlucky to receive from all that batch.
I’m shocked this isn’t more common.

This is a strange one...
Short of diabling BD-Live and cleaning the disc I can't think of any other reason as to why this would happen. The fact that others have the same issue across different players suggests some sort of encoding issue that's being picked up by some 4K players and not others. Not an issue I've personally experienced so can't advise further, unfortunately...
