Well you're not making any allowance here for the reality of scalpers who don't give a toss what the movie is so long as it's from a label people fawn over like Manta Lab. Plus this is the first time we're seeing a Blade Runner steelbook with the original artwork. I think most will manage it if they're on time but it's still a cult film so I won't be surprised if some miss out either especially when one version in particular seems to be the obvious favourite like the DL.
The Original artwork is the reason it's going to be hard to obtain. LIkewise if 2001 got the same treatment with the original artwork the same would happen.

I'm thinking you're all worrying for no reason, especially comparing to Interstellar. You're forgetting that Interstellar is a vastly more popular movie, a whole generation and a half more has been exposed to it, than Blade Runner, of which they heard of at best, and didn't like it or found it 'old and slow and boring' at worst.
It won't sell out as fast, so I think everyone who wants a copy, will get it.

P.S. Went to see Interstellar in theaters, it was rereleased last week, skipped Friday, Saturday, Sunday and even Monday, as there were too many people, went on Tuesday, and still it was relatively full, so I had to sit in the front row to be alone. More, than any other new release...

This feels like a post that belongs in a Titans of Cult thread, Blade Runner or Interstellar which is a cult classic?

:naughty:

Given that the DL only has 400 copies outside of the OC, Group Buys have happened, and you can (for whatever reason) purchase 2 directly from them, I could see it going OOS slightly quicker than the OC.

Fist time i see so many wrong statements in one single post.

To me it seems like too many people that never ordered direct from Manta (or tried once, maybe twice) feel the urge to post what they think.
I've bought everything from them directly, haven't used a group buy here since... I don't remember, whenever HDZETA was doing those Terminators...
If you're on time, you can get a copy, as someone already wrote here. I did use a group buy this time, though, thinking I 'might' not get one, so, whatever.
You don't have to tell me that it's a cult movie I've been haunting eBay for Blade Runner stuff since 1998. Still don't think it's as popular, as Interstellar. You know, amongst those 'real movie fans', that don't know what a Nokia is.

The young crowd are for the most part not even interested in physical media. They're watching the latest dwayne johnson as himself flick on their phone on the toilet while they're on a break from watching twitch thots, tiktok videos and crying on twitter. So you'd be right Blade Runner isn't as popular with that crowd.. but that's not the crowd who are showing up to buy steelbooks on the dot in my view - that would be their 'odd' boomer uncles who come off looking like hoarders since they still prefer the old fashioned way of having a physical attachment to the pop culture they consume. I mean is Michael Keaton coming back as Batman for the benefit of 15 year olds who probably don't even know who the guy is? I personally don't feel as though movies have quite the same hold over younger audiences in the digital age that they used to and studios are reasonably aware of it. A kid might use a Nic Cage reaction meme from Vampire's Kiss but there's almost zero chance he's seen the actual film and wouldn't ever care to either ya know?

And I'm still using a plate camera!

I think this is my favourite post in this thread. And sadly spot on (bar the odd youngsters who do actually get into all kind of film old and new and do collect physical media - although vinyl is getting bigger again with the young audience aswel as the old)

Oh, I will say this though, I do love YouTube on my phone on the toilet. I can’t diss that. And laughing at the guys crying on twitter whilst I sh!t lol

My exact thoughts. Dunno why you're telling me this though.
