Didn't think there was a GB in here? Or was that from elsewhere? Only place I saw was MP and had to be Platinum :(

I too will get mine tomorrow. If we get them as scheduled, we can ask to lock this thread, and we'll be none the wiser if @tha_lunatic got his :naughty:

Had to ask Royal Mail to delay mine until Thursday as I won’t be in tomorrow :offtopic:

Can’t risk it being left on the door step!

Great release this is. Really like it. The production sketch cards and booklet are so good. Love this film vault steel too. I have switched it out for the UK one, so I've still got the PET slip.

Anyone opened the steelbook in this? I assume it's just a single 4K disc, but wondered whether the disc hubs are split left and right like the UK steel, or if it's a dual (/single) hub on the right.

Currently available on the bay for a very reasonable price...:naughty:

Think it’s probably based on US sales and some hope.

Those „people” I think can't find anything better to do with such amount of money...
Or they „earn” such amounts in mere seconds... therefore those money represent nothing...
I for one have (already for some time) issues with STORING those... and didn't purchased OCs...
CRAZY „people”, crazy world... :bag:

Exactly. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should. It rapidly effects the second hand market too. I guess that's the point though right. Limited means limited. Collecting aftermarket then is a game best played by a certain sub set of collectors who can afford it.
If a seller arbitrarily inflates the resale price immediately; someone uses their pocket change to buy it at £500, the market knock-on effect is only going in one direction.

The sad fact is though, if you're only interested in it as it's your favourite film or franchise and you're not buying everything, everywhere. You have to buy it on pre order or the aftermarket risk on your wallet is obvious.

I think that most of those „collectors” that purchase just for sell it for MUCH more later, are NOT actually collectors anyway.
I for one would suggest to the producers (Manta, Blufans, WeET, etc.) to only sell those to REAL collectors and only one item at once.
Something like this I recall had FilmArena, with their „collector number”... that would had been GREAT for REAL collectors, and they would not have to spend exorbitant amounts for something they want to have in collection. But maybe this is just me, and they producers only want to sell-sell-sell, as fast as possible (like their items would EVER stay unsold DOH :brb:!)

In some circumstances I can get it, although not at those prices personally. Blade Runner is probably the title that first comes to mind on most occasions anyone asks me what my favourite movie ever is, and BR2049 is in and around there somewhere given it's still the best audiovisual experience I've enjoyed in a theatre. I got the 2049 OAB release a good few years back now as I loved the design and had nothing from it, but I was lucky that that was someone here for a much more reasonable price than these (about €200 IIRC). The Manta Blade Runner DL was my grail and I was lucky with that too in that I got that here for a reasonable price as well (something like €160 I think). I haven't spent anything near those on single releases on another occasion, not yet at least.

Despite my love for BR, I didn't really have any big interest in this OAB release and I was glad as I knew I'd have an impossible task of getting one, the only thing I really wanted was the outer box. There definitely is a subset of people that will buy releases like these just to either scalp immediately or to hold for a few years to accumulate value and then move on. Unfortunately it just comes with anything that's limited and highly desired in any field. Sucks for people that legitimately just want to own and enjoy it but those are the unfortunate lines anyone that likes this hobby has to try live between.

Restricting supply is not going to reduce prices, it's the exact opposite of what you need to do.

Sure, this would help a few 'real' collectors but even 'real' collectors get tempted by money, look how many people still tried to grab a Spider-man 2 OC despite getting in a GB; put an extra digit on my Furiosa set and I'd be selling most of it.

I might not been clear, was in no way saying to restrict the supply, instead just to assure the real collectors (those that ONLY purchase to own and keep), the chance to purchase.
Honestly, in my book, a collector will NEVER be tempted to sell anything from his/her HARD ACQUIRED COLLECTION!
Maybe just if they had duplicates... yet, my suggestion above would prevent any to have duplicates.
But sure, that's just me, and maybe some other collectors have „other views” and indeed think and act for making more money on the back of others (collectors).
