Not bad. I definitely prefer the original steel, though. Much better finish on that, but It's mainly the rear of the new steel that kills it for me. It really sucks.

I trust the 4K transfer will be great, but it's a bit disappointing there's no Dolby Vision or Atmos. I guess at least the audio is now a 24bit DTS HD MA track, rather than the 16bit TrueHD track on the 15yr old blu-ray lol

Yeah, I read a review yesterday. It's a "native" scan, but as it's still from the interpositive it sounds much of a muchness to the criterion blu-ray. Marginal gains in clarity and detail, slight refinement of the image and color with the hdr layer and new encode, but that's about it. Audio sounds about the same too.

Heat didn't do that great for the Barry Lyndon steelbook.

I got the same one easy remove glue on the back and two impossible gorilla glue on the top front. Same as the BLyndon.

This was HMV stock. I think you said yours was Rarewaves or Zavvi? Could be a case by case basis or something like a pallet or box with different glues.

Who knows.

Mine was amazon for boogie nights. No yellow glue. Barry Lyndon was also amazon, but that had yellow glue on the front. Seems to be random.

I got it off in the end with some tender words and a touch of serious mc'lovin.

Now, it did cross my mind to leave it a sticky mess - seemed appropriate given Boogie Nights copious amounts of man milk jettisoned across the 165 minutes runtime.

It's got a semi rigid/ softer slip case and an ultra thin blu ray case. I had this version for a while, then traded up to the blu ray steel and then double dipped on the newer 4k, so booted the Cine Edition. The image on the front was great but it also had hard printed ratings information and stuff on it that spoilt it in my opinion.

No they not re-releasing and it sold out years ago and no longer listed on HMV website
