thanks for the post by the way this edition looks cool i wish the uk got this for the reissue although imo i think the lid should be like the original release and br ba should be green and white just like in the intro. instead of black and gold still cool

No UK Set they sold out long time ago The US Set is region locked. The UK got another Blu-ray set but that was a collectible tin case

I know the standard UK set sold out a long time ago and I know about the tin set. I am just wondering if this US (gold edition) Br Ba barrel set is region free. What you say is conflicting with eBay listings saying it is region free

I would expect the discs inside the Gold edition to be the same as the standard US barrel version, so region locked.
I highly doubt they would make special region free discs for it.
The pics in the op looks to have the same discs too.

It is primarily for the signatures mate. I know they are official so that is good enough for me. I have all the standard blu-ray editions, but need this signed barrel

EDIT: I tried one disc (season 2 disc 1) with a reg B player, and it does not work. It is NOT region FREE.

I own this gold edition and this set is region free ("Region ABC" on the box), but I do not have a region B player to test them.

Nice one buddy, they look great but I could never justify the price my self.

I agree, I think it's too expensive as well; for 599 USD Aaron Paul should have signed it.

I paid mine 300 USD before taxes on Amazon.CA
I bought a "used" one with broken packaging. And as the 2 hinges were also broken and not in the description, I claimed a second discount (I got an additional 20%).
Packaging and hinges are broken, but the barrel set looks great and I never open the barrel's door. If one day I want a good outer clear packaging, I will buy a used standard edition. Plastic looks identical.

If you're a fan and not a collector, wait that price come back at 599 and then bought a used one with damaged packaging (should be approx 450-500).

Note: 146 were produced (certificate of authenticity). Beware Amazon Warehouse: "Factory Sealed" means that packaging were opened and then sealed by Amazon (not Sony).

lot of "used" ones for sale by Amazon Warehouse, but all for ridiculous prices. Not sure it will ever really fall, but we'll see...
