I'm not usually a fan of horror, but I decided to pre-order this after reading all the positive comments. Steelbook looks really nice too. :D

It's not really a horror movie, it just sort of is. Don't want to give anything away so I can't explain it beyond that. You'll understand once you see it. I'd recommend buying the steelbook, then renting it. If you like it, open the steel, if not, return or sell it.

quick questions to folks who have dealt with the hmv site... how are their packaging for shipping ? and do they charge upon pre-order or when the item ships ?

thank you

They charge when they ship, not before. Packaging is so-so... just a cardboard box. Luckily all my HMV steelbooks have been mint so far :D

Haven't seen the movie yet, so it's a blind buy for me as well. Absolutely love the cover art. Watched the trailer, liked it. Don't really pay much attention to reviews (nice to read them, but they never convince me into watching something or ignoring something), as many love the films I seriously dislike (ridiculous Hangover type of comedies and so forth) and vice versa. I'll really have to see it for myself, but I'm pretty sure I'll like it. At least for a 3/5, which is good with the films coming out lately.

They're usually a few quid more in store. Although at least you can inspect it to make sure its mint.

Hopefully it will only be a couple of pounds at most but I don't mind paying the extra seeing as I can choose my own and so not have to worry about it arriving damaged. Dragon Tattoo was only £1 more expensive in store.
