its not rare my local hmv as plenty of stock

It is rare. Trust me.

Most HMV's have been cleaned out. I spoke to HMV in Westfield (London) last week who had 15 copies back in and they're all gone. There will be some around though.

Some stores unwrapped them and polybagged with the replacements and other stores left them originals sealed and then polybagged with the spare discs.

It really is dependant on your local store.

What I mean by rare is original Factory Sealed w/ faulty disk. It seems most HMV's have opened them to replace the disk from what ive been reading.

Finally got a reply from HMV:

You asked us to send you CABIN IN THE WOODS: HMV EXCLUSIVE: STEELBOOK. We're so sorry but we can't find copies anywhere. It's sold out and we're not aware of any plans to re-release.

You might be able to get hold of a second-hand copy, but sadly not through us. If anything changes, we'll be in touch. We've cancelled the product from your order and haven't charged you for it.

We really hope you're not too disappointed. We've got one of the biggest databases in the world, so it's unusual for us not to come up with the goods.

Received my replacement disc in the mail today. It was in a plastic sleeve which was then inserted into a small thin bubble envelope. Seems to be unscathed.
