That was for the non-steelbook version.
print run was doubled when they decided to make it a steelbook
I don't own that (because I couldn't justify it at the time) but that's one of the best slips I've ever seen (in pics)

Matte could look nice but it has to be extremely thick matte with no streaky business. And I can see it being streaky if they choose matte
Was going to say the black as matte and the red as gloss but the way the colours merge around Hugh that will extremely hard to do and might not look good in hand
Yes, you would be charged VAT when ordering from Germany to Ireland (as both are EU countries).

Yeah, that would be cool! The preferred choice seems to be pretty clear on here, but even if they don't take our votes into account, it looks like gloss is still receiving the most votes on FB anyway.
