And there's no critical thinking in some others. ;)

But seriously, I'm the guy that usually never has a problem with a release. I don't care about matt vs. gloss finish (because both can work great), I don't care about title/no title either on the front or the spine (because I usually know which movies I buy), I don't dismiss the lack of inner artwork (because it just isn't that big of a deal to me), I'm pretty lenient when it comes to artwork (because I don't really like to strongly criticize something that's very subjective).

The only thing I do have a problem with is blatant mistakes. For example, when they choose the wrong color for something that can only be represented by one color (like Filth). Or when they leave some artifacts that aren't supposed to be in the image because they didn't pay attention during photo editing (like Fantasia). Or when they add debossing based on the color tone, not the actual image itself, almost as if they have no idea what they're actually trying to represent with the debossed edges (like here).

If such obvious mistakes aren't enough of a reason to start questioning the artistic decisions of a release, then nothing is.

I was only jesting! Each to their opinion.
Perhaps it would look odd if the outline of the opening was debossed with the sunlight been there. With the sunlight there you wouldn't see the contour of the door.

I really hope the zavvi version is the same.

Regarding the border. In the video, it looks like the cloud cover/light is much brighter than the mock-up (or could just be the light in the video), so that you can barely see the outline of the hanger on that right side anymore, hence why it makes a little more sense to follow that.

Looks good overall though and so glad to see some gloss again. Just wish the spine had a title as I hate those faces plastered there. Not bothered about a title on the front but spine imo is essential. Best would be to somehow source a NA copy and swap the spines over, however that would cost too much, unless you can find a dented bargain down the road.

Am I the only one that doesnt like that deboss/emboss? :p Don't fancy irregular things like the different deboss on both sides of the hangar for an example. Looks dumb, especially when the hangar actually looks the same on both sides, its the light of the sun that gets debossed which imo is just stupid :O

Am I the only one who thinks the front debossing is the weirdest ever? The right upper part, like on the left the line should be straight since it follows the opening. But instead, they debossed the... sunlight? on the right. Just doesn't make sense.

Here's the part I'm talking about:

I would have much preferred just the standard "frame" debossing and the embossed shield.

No you're not. I'm a deboss/embiss fetishist, but I also find it really weird. The line should be straight. The shield is also round!

I think the video makes the steel look nicer than it does on the picture. I am not sure but it looked like a sort of glossy finish but may be wrong. I think it looks ok.

The US one won't have embossing on the Shield no as the title is debossed. Good thing that IMO makes the two releases even more individual

From what I can tell, there is no reason why the shield can't be embossed with the title debossed. I'm sure embossing can be done as long as something is debossed too (either a border or title).

For the shield to be embossed the main surface area of the steelbook needs to be debossed (i.e. with a border), to my knowledge there's never been a steelbook with a border, embossing and then further debossing

I said it in the pics of your latest steelbook acquired topic, but the only place I could possibly be seeing the title debossed is right at the top and very small, which I really don't think is something they'd go for.

They could do an *embossed* title, but I'm pretty sure it's already been confirmed to be debossed.
So I don't see the shield being embossed as for that to happen the hangar area would need to be debossed and then where does the title go?

not a fan of the weird de-bossed border on the front. But overall the steelbook reminds me of the avengers steelbook (gloss, pictures on the spine, unique debossing)

The title on the BB/FS edition is located on the bottom is it not? They could easily emboss the hanger as a border, embossed shield and then deboss the title, if they really wanted. It would probably flex a lot, but I'm sure is possible.
