Just got charged for it. At $29 it feels like a real steal compared to the Zavvi version. Especially since its releasing a long time before the USA copy.

I'm seriously considering not catch the release of BestBuy and grab one of this. :bag:

I think that's the Idea dude...

European retailers musta lost out on a LOT of sales to North America last time out with Thor 2, and maybe Man of Steel as well. They cant of liked seeing their paychecks going oversees.... so i wld not be surprised if ppl like zavvi, amazon de, mediamark ect had a GOOOD b1tch @ Disney behind the scenes..... ...like:

"WTF u on??? how come USA gets tha bling and we get poopy seconds??? u tryin to ruin us mofo?? huh????

or something like that LOL

I was really feeling this until someone pointed out the weird debossing on the hang glider lol. Debossed sunlight? Looks botched. But everything else is nice (besides no title which is a big no no for me). Even the back I like.

No debossed sunlight. Debossing just follows the outline of the glider.

I think this is a much better effort than Thor: The Dark World. The front artwork is good enough to get away with not having a title on the cover, the finish looks decent and the idea of embossing the edge of the plane and the shield is great. In principle it should be awesome, but they've ****** it up by embossing the damn sunlight. I haven't seen the film yet but unless there's a scene where a hole is blown into the plane, it shouldn't look like that. It could have been awesome, but yet again Disney find a way to let us down on a new release :(

It obviously doesn't. This post illustrates it perfectly:
Here, I'll illustrate what I'm talking about because I get the feeling some aren't really sure what I'm saying.

This would make sense (red borders showing where the debossing goes):

Guys... :stop: ..Its supposed to be like that.... u cant have symmetry on both sides because a big fat debossing border going through the sun would also look wrong.... at least i think that's the reasoning, along with the desire for a totaly unique debossing type steelbook maybe.... . ...Some may say this way is worse, which is fair enough, but there's no way they could manufacture 10's of 1000's like that by mistake... the debossed/embossed sections are predetermined and have to be specifically programmed into whatever industrial machinery they use to make these things :watch:

Totally agree with Saber Tooth. I for one think it looks great and welcome something new to the table.

Some are never happy. Nobody seemed to complain about the unique embossing border on The Avengers Steelbook at the time??

If they had embossed it as Slinchafi illustrated, it would have been awesome but this just looks stupid. I mean just look at Moony's picture, I don't know how anyone can think that this is good:

hey i just thought of somthing else guys ..click spoiler to have your mind BLOWN

The steel is also glossy too right? ...well i jus thought...... with the way the deboss is done in that particular section, it could be there to emphasise reflected light. When u move it inhand, the gloss and the emboss might combine to produce some sort of cool minor visual emphasis on the sun itself
