If that's the case, how does Zavvi justify a 24.99 price tag? It seems that recent Zavvi releases at that price point were 3D. That's insane! !

They'll justify it by saying it's a 'small' print run.

I just hope it's not like IM3 and after I order it, the same art WITH the 3d disk pops up, though I wish it popped up in the US somewhere, would have been easier...

My guess is the steel is going to be the same everywhere except for maybe Blu Fans. Retailers will try to differentiate their offering by lowering print runs (like this case), throwing in art cards or gifts, numbered editions, offering 1/4 and lenticular slips etc. I think chances are good we'll see a Cap. Am. WS steel in the US considering we saw Thor 2. My order at Zavvi is essentially like my first bid. Once we see the greatness from other retailers for this release, I will retract my bid lol.

Yes, unfortunately for most of us regular customers, we usually get a vague, unhelpful, incorrect and/or canned response from Zaavi customer service.

It's great that we have people like DB who can get to the bottom of such things...thanks DB!

So I guess some people will be re-ordering in 3-2-1...

Was only wondering about this earlier? Wasn't sure if it would end up being an Entertainent Store exclusive as I thought it was Paramount release? Anyway this was inevitable, glad the art isn't final and it's definitely got the 3D!

I've pre-ordered. But like a lot of you guys, I'm awaiting to see other offerings. Just a first port of call as it were.
Better artwork than the crappy Thor TDW one... which I still had to get. But I'm hoping they use the Captain America Character Poster with title: IE:

I don't understand the upset at the lack of 3D

These films are never filmed with 3D cameras as it enables them to save money and despite the budget they only ever receive a poor post production conversion just like the rest of the series. I cannot think of a single one of these where the 3D has added anything to the film.

For the price yes, this title is extremely expensive but what do you expect? It's Disney/Zavvi combination! Just take a look at their entire range of currently available titles and it will give you some insight .

I imagine this is going to go the same way as the IM3 steelbook, where it is cheaper to import with a crap 3D transfer than buy the standalone 2D disc.

How difficult can this be to get right first time round, reasonably priced steelbook, 2D disc and decent artwork :bangshead:
