What ToC SB's do you guys think are actually good? I only really like Fury Road and V for Vendetta (I thought the latter was much better than the WWA one). Goodfellas was ok, although I might have preferred the US steel with the title on the front. Blade Runner was just... weird, recently sold it for good money in anticipation of the Manta release. And Pacific Rim... not the greatest art, but very nice and rare satin finish.
Everything else since then, quite forgettable...
I'm pretty happy with the 5 that I have. I VERY reluctantly bought Ready Player One and Wonder Woman when my (empty) "must-complete-collection" collectors-mind was malfunctioning early on, but once their releases went downhill from there, I got rid of those asap....

Stopped collecting these as they consistently put out previously released steels, which oft contained low value, both artistically & intellectually 'goodies'.
In an alternative universe, ToC would have pulled the pin from the grenade & gone for Warm Bodies as an exclusive.
Last purchase was RP1, as it's a fave of mine, but since then, meh!
The price rise from £29.99 is another turn-off. These releases can't be seen as a good deal anymore, & later releases are still in stock with retailers, indicating that they are under-performing commercially.
To regain my interest & my custom, I need to see something which I can't resist & can't get anywhere else.
Gonna go back to my alt. universe & watch 'Married to the Mob'.

I stopped collecting after pacific rim, and I only bought that one because I felt obligated to keep the collection going. A clockwork orange is a movie I really like, and when it comes to premiums, I’m all for it. I literally canceled my order for the TOC clockwork orange… the steelbook is hideous and doesn’t represent the movie.. at all.

why is it snobby that ppl dont want a steelbook that has the art of a generic wallpaper?

It really does look like wallpaper from 1970s Britain.... up north.... specifically up north. @Noodles can you confirm? :coffee:

I'm not saying you have to like every, but there are ways of saying you don't like something without just being a twat. Just my 2 cents.
Please name these twats. Was I one of them? I need to know because if I’m not then I need to try harder. This company are the worst in the game and I will scream that from the tallest mountain or tallest bin behind the dirtiest kebab shop until my lungs bleed and and all I can see are sharp bright light lines shooting up and down eyes. Until the designers no longer want to design SteelBooks. That’s the pain I would put up with to make these titans of c**t to cease existing

General question ninjas :
Doesn't it bother you if you have a premium package/steelbook of the first ( or second, third..) movie and not the others with the same format ? For instance, they're doing Casino Royal but they won't probably do the others, like BF with Harry Potter.. so that doesn't bother you ?

Yes and no. Yes it bothers me. But I’ve go so many half arsed collections where that’s happened that it don’t. I still buy them if I want that film. If that makes sense. Blufans dark knight will be an up and coming example (that’s if they don’t tackle begins and rises)

It's the reason why I have none of the Planet of the Apes, I want a complete set - not one offs from different retailers.

Gotta admit, this thread was a pretty fun read - ToC sure ain't welcome 'round these parts lest they change

Since July 1st 2020 MGM DVD/Blu-ray/UHD releases is distribued by Warner

2001: A Space Odyssey is also a MGM film that also got a Titans Of Cult release
So it's just another title from Warner

When Disney took over Fox MGM it did not renew its deal with Fox
That is why you seen MGM film home media releases been from Warner since then

Home Media distribution rights could change if Amazon deal to purchase MGM gets approved

I think it looks ok. Not for me personally but it does evoke the opening sequence. I think the poker chip prediction will be spot on though haha.

Yes the 2001 went over my head! One of my fave movies too and I’ve seen that opening title with MGM many times. Just seems weird with MGM on spine. If I was still collecting these I would be happy with this one. I can’t cope with the Oversized box that in reality is to house a pin and forces you to keep the whole package together. I prefer the heavy board slip boxes that you don’t have to be so careful with. They feel like higher quality throw away packaging and take up a lot of room for pins I won’t use. I will definitely buy a nice matrix or Bladerunner 2049 one though.

Ironically enough the Casino Royale Steelbook I already have is quite Titans of Culty and it's still better looking than the actual offering :rofl:

Yeah the one I have is literally inspired by the opening, there were an entire wave of them years back

Love this film, watched it again the other night in the build up to next Thursday :)
