Quality control is lacking nowadays & it's not just with Zavvi it happens with other companies. They don't check stuff before packing & they are not collectors.
A spine slash to some people is not an issue. I'm not saying it's right it's just a fact because at the end of the day it's about quick turnover & getting stuff out as fast as possible.

fyi-I have shared that there is concern about this. By all means contact them if your item is damaged. But as we always do, and always have done, we have shared feedback with all retailers who have experienced this (and if you've been around you'll know that multiple retailers have dealt with this), so they can investigate where it is occurring.

Please post further retailer-specific constructive comments in the Zavvi thread here, so your feedback is not buried in the individual release threads. We cannot resolve individual orders for you (please contact them), but feel free to share your thoughts about any retailer in our retailer forum. Thanks all!

Well here we go. Hope you like the pics. I'm really impressed with this one but the damn SPINE SLASH on BOTH COPIES, is a bit of a joke.

The one time that I've received a damaged steelbook from Zavvi, they were pretty good and quick about sending me a new one. I didn't have to pay for shipping for a new one or return the old one. I've heard some horror stories about people receiving damaged steelbooks from them and trying to get a replacement copy, so hopefully, if I received a damaged Cinderella (crossing my fingers that I don't), then the process of getting a new one won't be a nightmare.

I feel kinda bad that my brave cinder Ella and bambi are all fine spine wise

Your mint copies may turn out to be very collectable when we've finally counted up all the damaged stock:hilarious: glad you got some mint additions to your collection:scat:

After looking at Ricster's pics, I just realized how awesome the finish is on this. Great job Zavvi, Disney and Scanavo (and lets not forget HDN for being the voice of reason ;))

Hopefully my copy turns up unscathed.

I have 2 cinderellas 1 was ok but 1 had the dreaded spine slash, 1 brave which was ok and 2 bambi's,one was ok and one had a dent on the back under the j card so i got mint copys of each film so reasonably happy!

Mine turned up today with a pretty faint slash so I'm not going to bother doing anything. Not half as bad as some pictures on here! This reminds me of the Skyfall Slasher days... That was a fiasco!

Looks like they had one incompetent person on shift that open a majority or all the shipments of the 4/7 steels. Way too many spine slashes to not have been done by one person I think. Zavvi is sure to lose some profit with all the partial refunds, returns and maybe(hopefully) replacements. Hope this opens their eyes to do some better training for their employees.
