It might support HDR10+ but if your screen doesn't support Dolby Vision specifically it will come out like this, which I think you've been referring too.No, it's all supported, at least HDR10+
No no no, of course the content is displayed in HDR10 or HDR10+, and I check for the specific icon in menu to activate (it's a Samsung Serif telly). It might support HDR10+ but if your screen doesn't support Dolby Vision specifically it will come out like this, which I think you've been referring too.
This is no fault of HDR/DV, the player should recognize what screen ur using and play it with a normal color scheme.

With properly implemented HDR, brightness at 100% doesn't mean the whole image is maxed out.No, it's all supported, at least HDR10+, and I know how to calibrate the screens, been doing it for 25 years, so it's nothing to do with incorrect settings.
I don't like it much on OLED screens either, from what I've seen on my Samsung tablets. The brightness automatically goes up to 100%, that irritates me to no end.
Got an LG OLED sitting brand new in a box, but after war started, I put everything on pause and am in a sort of limbo now for over 2 years, not unpacking it, not assembling 17 new Billy shelving units, not doing anything in the apartment... just still buying discs like an idiot, and putting them in boxes. Ya'll making fun of someone here keeping their stuff in boxes, well I'm doing that for real. 74 large boxes as of now...![]()
Tell it to the backlight of any non-OLED TV.With properly implemented HDR, brightness at 100% doesn't mean the whole image is maxed out.
The max brightness is saved for the highlight detail whereas the APL will be close to the standard Blu-Ray in many cases.
There are exceptions though, Starship Troopers being one, where the HDR is way too bright.
Their brightness just goes up no matter what's on screen, of course depending on the zones of lighting, and 99% of the time there are grey/brown places instead of black, etc, due to that.Same. Love the film and would’ve picked it up if the art was different. No point when I have the exact same front steel and better back artWould have liked to have seen different art on this one

Received today, not the most impressive SteelBook I've ever seen but I'm happy enough with it, never having had a previous copy.

Yeah, full gloss. The ratings on the front are stickers but after what happened to my copy of The Crow, I'm scared to take them off.Don't know what's happened to mine, it was shipped on Wednesday. Not arrived today.
It looks full gloss from your pictures - is that right?
Can't sniff at full gloss these days.Yeah, full gloss. The ratings on the front are stickers but after what happened to my copy of The Crow, I'm scared to take them off.

Peeled off the sticker and some of the steel came off with it. Happened to a few peeps. Some photos (not mine) here: The Crow - 30th Anniversary (4K+2D Blu-ray SteelBook) (Zavvi Exclusive) [UK]Can't sniff at full gloss these days.
What happend to you Crow steel? These are usually pretty weak glue adhesive. Usually.![]()
That was just the slip finish though, not the actual paint on the steel. The steel paint isn't going to come off if you take a bbfc sticker off.Peeled off the sticker and some of the steel came off with it. Happened to a few peeps. Yep, you are completely right, that's me misremembering! That was just the slip finish though, not the actual paint on the steel. The steel paint isn't going to come off if you take a bbfc sticker off.
Nothing to fear then! Those crow slips were a nightmare though. I've never had that before, and I'm super glad I saw a bunch of posts beforehand, or id've just peeled it off as usual. I was very careful, and thankfully came out mostly unscathed.Yep, you are completely right, that's me misremembering!
