gutted :(

Contact the retailer if purhcased direct. If not, contact whoever did sell it to you (raise a paypal claim if thats how you paid)
Sadly, Royal Mail wont deal with the recipient, so you have to go via the seller/shipper

I believe that's the same practice utilised by postal services world wide. And if you think about it, that's the only way they can go ahead; it's the sender who has the proof of leaving the item at a post office. The recipient only has a tracking number at best, and that doesn't really prove that a shipment was addressed to you.

It was thru this GB tho Lol
But that information doesn't really help me when I march to my local post office to inquire about a shipment that hasn't arrived ;)

As a tracking number doesn't tell them more than a shipment was sent from country A to country B, they always want the sender to start a tracing process for a possibly missing shipment.

At this time of the year, a transit time of 13 days (or more) is not beyond the realm of possibility for a parcel between Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.

@yeslek You've probably already checked the information at the Czech Post tracking site? https://www.postaonline.cz/en/trackandtrace/

If the last entry is "The consignment was sent to the destination country", they haven't received additional tracking entries from Royal Mail yet.

The post office might have lost my hard box. How would I get I get my money back for this? Isnt the amount on the shipping slip low for customs reasons?

If bought directly from FA then go to them, after a certain amount of time (to ensure it still does not get to you) they should refund you and be able to claim back the money from their postal service. If this is not the case, they should at least have a tracking number to be able to prove that it was sent and if they give that to you, you may be able to claim from the postal service as well.

If from the GB then you should contact the host, they may be able to sort something out for you.

I would at least leave 14 working days before making any claims, just bear in mind Xmas post and the recent strikes albeit not widespread.

They left a notice that it was at the post office but now the post office cannot find it. This what the problem is and they were supposed to call back to follow up and never did :-(

Have you asked Karel and Martin for the tracking number. They always ship with tracking but only supply the number if there is a problem.
In the UK tracking works right to your door for most international shipments.

The tracking in UK has house nos, postcode and name I believe (sometimes even the street name as per the receipt) so if you have tracking and ID to prove your name/address matches that attached to the tracking, I dont see why he recipient cant be dealt with.
I know RM allow the buyer/receiver to chase lost parcels sometimes. But they prefer seller/shipper, for as you say, they have the proof of shipping.

thats not to say teh recepient is helpless - check with your local depot/postage service, depending on the last tracking info.

Then contact the host(s) and maybe raise a paypal claim (depending on the time window as paypal only cover you for so long and you dont want to miss out there.)

you then check the local postage company - over here its RM yes, an once in their system, they usually scan to say its with them, and out for delivery.
Depending on the service paid for you sometimes just get 'received in county' then 'delivered' or some tracking services(from various countries) will track when it moves from HUB to local office, even advising when its out for delivery and who signs for it if left with a neighbour - all depends on country of origin an their tracking service options as to what Royal Mail will do when they get the parcel.

(BTW I've not even had shipping notification on my GB copy yet so no need to check anything anywhere. Yet at least :) )

in that case, take all evidence you have for the post office, go there in person and demand something be done.

They should be the ones to refund you for cost price(which am guessing you will need your a copy of your paypal payment receipt(s) for proof of cost)
The GB host shouldnt refund you, the post office should. Especially as they admitted fault.

if not, then sadly you would have to get the GB host to raise a claim their end and forward the refund onto you am afraid. (which they would claim of Czech post, who would then claw it back from your local postal service)
but lets hope your post office does the right thing and covers their mistake without having to involve other parties.

good luck!

I am sorry but this is terrible advice.
