It's not the end of the world guys. Not at all. Another big player is still in the game (Manta Lab). And I don't think it's difficult to top this release ;)
you are right, but some just collect deadpool releases or kimchi editions.
its not always i buy one edition only...

it makes sense considering how popular deadpool is, plus all the GBs across forums, leaves the site with limited copies. Selling out in seconds isn't such a shock now, should have expected it really considering. Funny now that the one that I found on ebay has gone from £60 to £150, this guy from thailand was quick on his "revise" button :OMG:

Congrats to all!

I also had a oneclick in my cart, but at checkout was left empty handed. (It’s becoming standard already. I missed out on the last few Nova’s and Kimchi)

I already hated the GB’S of NovaMedia together with their crap servers , but didn’t think Kimchi would do the same (allocating to GB in such high numbers).

GB’s are lovely and there are a lot of positive things coming out of it, like
- supporting HDN
- getting what you want while you can’t be there on release

But nowadays the distributors are choosing more and more the easy way out, that means shift more copies for the least amount of effort, thus saving time and money.

Also this I can understand, but please.. this is getting ridiculous. I’m stepping out of this game.

Unfortunately not everyone is this position financially.

I'm sorry then, but to be perfectly honest, you probably shouldn't be buying $50 Blu Rays at all. This is a hobby for people with disposable income. If you're digging too deep to afford everything you simply have to change your collecting habits.

Thank you for ignoring my suggestion completely, of which I gave a pretty clear idea that ANYONE in this hobby could benefit from. Buy less overall = have more money to spend to put towards these group buys. Being stubborn about this fact and whining about not being in the financial position to do something about it just makes you sound really poorly educated. Picking and choosing between releases is something responsible people have to start doing with their money.

hmmm, I thought they were extra listings? When I last saw the £60 ones (started at £55) 2 out of 3 were sold, so assumed the £150 were extra copies? He's probably looking at these forums now, rubbing his hands :greedy:

I said it before and I'll say it again.

More and more people are copping on to the fact that you can safely secure your copy/copies in a GB (or two!) and still have the option to snag copies directly from the site on release day.
Big pay day for scalpers, but the collectors who really want one get buttf***ed!

Something not right there at all

Selling steelbooks is a business guys, loyalty means absolutely nothing. They do group buys as a cost saving measure, your feelings do not factor into the equation.

this is - unfortunately - the bitter truth, my friend.
The evolution of this GB business is one of a few reasons that make me think about quitting the game completely...

But thanks god there will be other collectors to replace me and my collection. :)

Glad I didn't wake up for the GB ... alarm did go off in the morning though, but I hit that snooze button. I had forgotten about this going live.

Not a big deal though with so many other retailers planning on having a crack at this one.

I don't understand all the moaning about this release beeing sold out so quickly. It is not the first time for such a high demand Marvel steelbook. And I wouldn't blame the GBs for this. I think most members joining the GBs are collectors anyway and only a few buy copies to resell. And adding these to the retailers stock wouldn't change this title beeing sold out in seconds. Almost the same amount of people would end up empty handed. As a consequence try your luck ordering directly from the retailer but don't be too disappointed if you don't get one or join a GB or try your luck on the bay and set yourself a limit, what you want to pay for it. With some patience you will get it for the price at some point, especially, when the hype slowed down a bit. For sure it does not make any sense for the collectors community to blame the GB hosts for a title beeing sold out!!!!
