GBs (for Kimchi, Nova) favour resellers. Fact.
I rather pay ebay prices before I support lazy retailers and their GBs.

I'll wait patiently for my one click from ebay..

I could of grabbed a full slip for sure and lenti most likely but went for the one-click. My last 2 Kimchi exclusives Martian and Incredibles I looked under my account and they were done in 14 and 17 seconds, so that One-Click sold out instantly. I know I'm tooting my own horn but I'm lightning quick at this, never missed a Kimchi, Novamedia, PA, ect. release preorder I was ready to grab.
Sounds like tooting :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I much prefer a booklet, the more bonus content the better. If I'm paying a higher price I would rather it came with all the extras than just a few art cards.

If they were charging closer to $40 then bonus content is warranted. However, the price of this is comparable to other regular Korean steelbooks that bare nothing special if not cheaper. I appreciate the effort put forth to make this special while keeping the price the same

It isn't priced too bad but Kimchi have had a lot of releases that came with all the extras that were also sold at this price. I know prices are rising across the board at the moment though, Steelbooks do seem to be getting more expensive these days.

Maybe for smaller films and or catalog titles, but I think the only others I can think of that was this price was Kingsman and Grand Budapest and that was a older title as the Blu-ray was released in Korea a year earlier.

I remember Kingsman and Grand Budapest, I thought there was more than that but maybe my memory is playing tricks! Lol! I know a few of the older catalogue titles were. It's not a bad price but I personally would rather pay a little more to get all the extras.

All I care about is the slips.

What I find unusual is print runs for some high demand releases in Korea that can be sold local and international
Some are very high 4,000 or above on a few releases but some are way to low
Some low print runs I understand as some releases are not high demand enough to sell out fast in both markets and the retailer risks been left with stock for months if the amount of stock is to high which most retailers as a business don't want to happen

You have some releases where I understand the reasons a print run is limited like nova choice as these can only be sold to overseas market while other local Korea distributors have a distribution licence to supply that market so nova choice print runs are lower for the international market because of this and distribution licence restrictions but a good few releases have been under estimated the demand even though they cant be sold locally to customers in Korea

When it's a high demand release that is been sold in both Korea and International market as a exclusive to a retailer the print runs are usually lot higher to cover both markets and don't usually have restrictions been sold locally in Korea

Kimchidvd Deadpool print run was way to low to cover both Local and International market as there was lot of demand itself in Korea to sell all copies
This Deadpool print run would have sold out on it's own in Korea fast even if it was not available to international customers

Film Studios and the retailers in Korea when supplying both Local and International need to take into account the demand in both regions
They can easily increase the print runs without any risks for releases that have the demand for that release and the retailer makes more profit
We have seen print runs of 4,000 for other releases like this

The Film Studio Distributors and the Korean retailers need to think about both markets they are selling to when it's been sold both Korea and International markets

This release was under estimated as a print run considering it was supplying both local and international markets and that it had already sold out fast in Europe with demand still there for more sales in high numbers

Film Arena and Manta both will also sell out simply because the demand is there

Basic Supply and demand if you under supply you miss out on lot more sales and profit margins

True. But there has been a clear distinction based on exclusivity of the steelbook. The real exclusives have been getting the proper treatment ( WEA steelbook + extras ). The WWA editions (WEET Collection ) have been using this minimalist approach and not charging any extra above what the normal edition is selling for. We are truly blessed to be getting these dressed up editions basically for the same cost as the undressed edition. I can't complain much about what they are including all considered

Agreed @frankfish44 , they're reasonably priced all things considered. I probably would have bothered to get one or both if there weren't other editions coming out. Will see, I might change my mind after seeing in-hand pics and hunt later.

People-the world didn't end, a steelbook just sold out

My opinion; this version has been rushed to cash in on the films success-did I wake up at 5:50 to order?
yes, but with the express interest in posting the pictures to get my kimchi award & flogging them afterwards.
I'm not a fan of either cover and kimchi selling out saved me money
This is not me being sour, it's just a fact. i missed out-I'll live

P.S anyone selling this on the forums for more than cost price deserves to be slapped

Roll on hateful 8...

honestly i don't see a reason why so many people were struggling ordering this.

the site (servers) went smooth, it was live exactly at the given time, and yes the one-click sold out extremely fast, but if you knew before what you are doing and where to click and be ready and logged in @ paypal before already, then it wasn't that much of a struggle.
when i came back to the site after paypal payment, the fullslip was still available, so i was able to order that one for a collecotrs friend too.

if i am able to place two orders until everything's sold out, you folks should be able to do at least one, no?
;)

i understand the complaints about too many copies being gone already before the official live times for different group buys though. we had that issue several times before, and fortunately at least my favorite korean label, PLAIN ARCHIVE, stopped doing it after many complaints after the ZDT pre-order. i can't see nova or kimchi changing that though. for them it means the same money for much less work. ;)

Also, zero - none of the dynamics between ordering from a site and Ordering from GB has changed in the last 2 years! It is exactly the same today as it was this very day last year! Nothing new here. Just the same arguments.
I get pissed when I miss stuff too. Life isn't fair. It's just a steelbook. And anything can be gotten. Odds are extremely good that these can be had at a decent price in a few months. If anybody has been paying attention, they would know that there has actually been a trend lately of boutique releases like FA and Blufans showing up for LESS than cost in the secondary market. (Plus, there is the inevitable wave of unpaid orders coming back).
And secretly, this is a blessing in disguise for those who missed it- Manta or FA are going to destroy that release. (Which most agree was a rushed, half-assed job).

So I guess we're all just fat, slow slugs that can't click fast enough huh? Way to be smug and better than the rest of us who got nothing, when the one click sold out right before we were about to pay.
