hmm most interesting product does not show on zavvi but blu-ray and dvd still do! something tells me either playing games or they showed it too early maybe?
checked in my account order still shows, but went up for pre-order and first round of sold out happened.
unless they have lost exclusivity, time will tell.
not very professional but this is zavvi we are talking about

basil

This happens a lot when their listings sell out, it's nothing new.

Good point.
On the one hand maybe expect to see this re-appear as an HMV exclusive (or at least as a shared exclusive, though an HMV/Zavvi Exclusive would be *a first, as far as I'm aware).
Brand new high profile Fox steelbook releases usually appear as HMV exclusives with recent examples being "The Martian, "Fantastic 4", "The Revenant", "The Scorch Trials" and "Hitman: Agent 47".
On the other hand, no idea if HMV are experiencing financial problems ... again ... or if the Xtra-vision issues will have/are having an effect on HMV .... the last time I looked both were trading normally online ... and that's maybe the reason it appeared at Zavvi instead ???
As you write "only time will tell"
:)
(*The "Crimson Peak" steelbook, though not a Fox title, was listed as a Zavvi Exclusive like DEADPOOL and then turned up shortly afterwards at HMV. though it was not listed as a shared exclusive - like those recent EONE/HMV exclusives such as "Nightcrawler" and "Monsters 2: Dark Continent").

Great film! Embarrassed myself probably by laughing all the way through it. Glad I've got this preordered but keeping my eye on the developments at FA. Just please don't change the art!

Just spitballing here:
Item removed from Zavvi's site as they've sold their allocation of 2,000 pieces - shortly to appear at HMV Online for the remaining 2,000 pieces.
HMV = the home of new FOX films released in steelbooks including THE MARTIAN, FANTASTIC 4, THE REVENANT, HITMAN: AGENT 47,THE SCORCH TRIALS . . .

More likely put aside for zbox.

Posted this a few days back, taken from Zavvi's listing:
Deadpool - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook (Limited to 4000) Blu-ray

More likely put aside for zbox.
That would make sense as with 1 1/2 pages of Deadpool merchandise on their site there's no shortage of stuff to put in it !
However we know from reading about these combos that the stuff inside the boxes can sometimes have little to do with the steelbook attached . . . which seems a bit strange to me.

The U.S Blu-ray is coming out in the Spring over there and on the image of that item we can see "IN THEATERS NOW. AVAILABLE SPRING 2016" (i.e. around 21st March - around 21st June) so surely not long after for the U.K.?

Regarding DIRECTOR'S CUT: Haven't checked if this has been mentioned already but it seems that it's a NO according to the director himself and I quote from Collider Movie Talk:-
"If you've seen Deadpool already, you've seen the one and only cut of the film. Contrary to rumours that an even more violent, more profane version would be coming in the form of a Director's Cut on Blu-ray, that will not be the case. This is coming from the director himself, Tim Miller, who addressed the question last week during a Q&A at Collider's exclusive IMAX preview of the film and said "I don't wanna be all Joss Whedon on you but no there's not (a director's cut) ...there are some deleted scenes that have some extra stuff, but I'm pretty happy with this cut. I like it"
To be fair Deadpool is violent enough and also needs to fit into the larger X-MEN universe, so verging into Quentin Tarantino territory would have made the picture a bit more of an outlier (a bit of an outsider) in terms of the overall tone of the universe. That said, Miller did a fantastic job of establishing a singular sensibility for Deadpool that feels unlike any other superhero movie out there, so I'd say he succeeded without the extra violent bits and its MASSIVE BOX OFFICE SUCCESS confirms this with "Deadpool takes in $47.5M at Friday box office" and it's looking like a Valentine's/President's Day holiday box office record of $120M . . ."
(just out of interest - the previous single day box office record for an "R" rated feature was held by THE MATRIX RELOADED from 2003 which made $37.5M on its first day in theatres with a total of $91.7M for its first three day weekend).

Considering this film has now the good fortune to have the highest opening weekend ever for a R rated movie EVER, I think it's possible that the print run might go up on this release.

Just me guessing, of course. :)
