I'm not a fan of glossy items, especially monitors and TV's that reflect everything in the room behind me onto the bezels, but is my bias clouding my steelbook judgment? I "believe" glossy steelbooks are a lot more prone to dents. Is there any consensus?

Its certainly more noticeable on glossy finishes but having to open everything for my collection and checking steels thoroughly,I have come across more glossy dinged steels than matted ones especially around the corners from manufacturing impressions.does it have to do with how they're pressed together and maybe the machines have to "double press" the covers since it tends to possibly "slip" lol

My view is it has nothing to do with the finish-the glossy one makes it more noticable. The debossed ones are necessarily compromised a bit because depending on the level of debossing the metal is significantly thinner. These are fragile no matter how you look it, but Mattes hide it better, imo.

My only dented mattes were those from Warner Wave 2. It could indeed be the glossy finishing making them more noticeable, but I'm still yet to find a debossed glossy with a dent, or find what seems to be a matte dented in transit.
