Just wondering had a quick flick through but could not see anything on this.
Personally i only collect UK only steel books i know there are not that many rare titles in the UK but i don't have a multi region player but i think its easier just to buy the UK ones.
So does it matter where the steel book is from for you ?

You tend to miss out on a lot by region locking yourself :hilarious: Its ok to venture outside your comfort zone every now and then to check out their offerings IMO

Majority of my steels are from the UK but I do have some Canadian and a German steelbook which I bought for the artwork. Luckily I do have a region free player but I do also have amaray versions of all of them.

I mainly buy from the UK through Zavvi or Amazon, but Canada (mainly Future Shop) has amazing SteelBooks as well.

My preference is for region free with an English cover title, no matter which country they are from, but I have also bought others from a variety of countries, many of which are region-locked and have foreign language cover titles.

At the end of the day, the biggest factor for me is whether I like the movie or not. ;)

I'll buy the version with the best artwork, maybe 2 if I like 2 different versions and they are wildly different from each other.

Country of origin doesn't matter to me, the art does..

Nope, I own Steels and limited eds from around the world-just depends on art, title and at what time it is avail vs other eds.

I currently have only bought U.S. steels and a couple from the UK. It is a very expensive hobby, especially as a college student. I definitely want to reach out of my comfort zone, but just don't know if I am getting ripped off if buying an older release from another country. Anyway to find that out?

Generally buy UK only releases, unless confirmed to be Region Free or Region B compatible as I don't have a multi-region player. I also open all my steels, and enjoy them and watch them. Not a complete collector, I don't buy every single version of a movie available, and I don't buy with the intent to trade or sell. I just buy them because I love the movies, and the steels are awesome.

But now I know how lucrative the steelbook trade is, I suppose if I get desperate for money or whatever, I essentially have a draw full of cash!

I have Steelbooks from all over, but decided to focus only on Asians. I may end up getting releases from other regions, it depends on art and everything, like db said.

Also, I guess the poll could be multiple choice? =D

New to the steelbook world and only have UK editions but am currently browsing other markets and cant wait to get involved with the exclusive releases from blufans, kimchi, etc..
