Do you prefer a TITLE or NO TITLE on steelbook covers?

What do you think of this new steelbook trend of Title-less covers?

Ya'll know how I feel about it, but I think it's time to see the true numbers on this.

Sometimes it can look good but the majority of the time it looks like something is missing. Unless the art is something really iconic, I personally believe title-less designs should be avoided.

Im not overly fussed either way. If they are titleless as long as the title is printed nice and colourful on the jcard then its fine.

See the green hornet for this. Titleless epic design and full colour titled card.

Also im not voting unless theres a 3rd option for people who dont care either way

Very few steelbooks can pull of a no-title cover art, and to that they gotta have something really unique about them.

So for 90% of the time a steelbook SHOULD DEFIANTLY have its title on the front cover.

I don't necessarily prefer no title but with the right design I think it can look pretty cool without one.

I do like a titleless steel. It appeals to me aesthetically, but it only really works if the film has strong branding / imagery.

It depends on the artwork. Like for instance the Zavvi IM3, I never would have known that was IM3. Some titles earn the right to not have a title as the image is so Iconic.

This largely depends on the artwork, but in general I prefer to have the title included. I don't like any text in addition to the title though.

Depends entirely on the artwork and I don't see any reason to nail my colours to one mast or the other. Therefore, I haven't!
Some would be improved with the title (eg. Twelve Monkeys) but I think some look ace without (Pan's Labyrinth, The Game). Nice to have some different designs.

Depends on the art. Example: The Green Hornet, yes for the love of God that is how a steelbook should be designed.

I cant really vote either way, it totally depends on the film for me, if its an iconic image or character I think you can get away with it but some just look like theres something missing as the image isnt instantly recognisable (The UK hurt locker springs to mind)

I definately prefer the title. But like others have said it depends on the art/logos used. And most the time the artwork alone isnt going to cut it. The Man with the Iron Fists is just ridiculous.

Title

I prefer with title particulary with embossed or debossed title. I think its more powerful !

I definitely prefer steelbooks with title on the front, and it does not matter here whether it is well known movie or not, someone who has not seen the film yet and will look on the front cover will not be know on what movie he looks.
For me is the same as with a book, I can not imagine all the books in bookstores without title on the front. The title is the most important part of any movie or book and well designed artwork on the cover should just reflect it not replace it.

I just hope that someone else will not go further and in the future will not want to remove the title also from spines, then we start to get no name products

They've already done that with several steelbooks. The Avengers and The Smurfs are two examples. Neither have any text on them at all, and a result, both have an unfinished look, like they are just prototypes or something. I'm really not into it.

Totally forgot about about these two jimmyv, which means that this steelbooks not get my attention for a longer time, they look strange as you said like an unfinished product.

Really depends on the artwork. The Game looks fine without the titel, Warriors would not.
