See this earlier and it's very enjoyable, a visual treat and trippy as sh*t! Which i was happy with

It's defo has the feel of guardians with the colours but still 2 completely different films.

I will say this.... I want some Marvel mushrooms! Lol

Only read if you have seen the film: a few things I liked and didn't like

I'm not a massive fan of cucumbersnatch and it took me about 20 mins to adjust to his accent and acting but it got better after that. He definately looked the part and a dead ringer for strange

The humour falls quite flat in this film. Benedict isn't funny anyway and his dry wooden jokes just didn't get any laughs at all (cinema was packed too) and was a little cringe but some of the other jokes or visual funnies are better.

And I hate the last stinger, why is he now a villain??? Stupid

The whole villian is a puppet for a bigger villain is wearing a little thin and I just want to see it all kick off in infinity wars now

But the visuals are incredible and so trippy and one scene was classic with the hands on hands on hands on hands ......

It is very inception on acid

Loved the action and the spirit fighting scenes and enjoyed mads too.
Also the time fight with eveyone going back in time looked amazing and the loop fight was cool too

Not sure is strange will appear in Thor 3 for a short scene But that would be quite cool

To address a few of your Spoiler points:

Mordo was always a villain in the comics. One of the things I wanted from the film was to see how he would turn after they cast him as a friend/mentor.

The whole thing with Kaecilius would annoy me if I saw this without reading the prequel comics first. He's given no backstory aside from a few lines about something about his family and his motives are not really explained. I've read the prequel comics which gives his entire story and he's actually quite a tragic character which parallels Doctor Strange in the film.

I hope and think Strange is in Ragnarok. I have a feeling this scene is halfway into Ragnarok because;
1) Thor knows Odin is missing when talking to Strange.
2) Thor has brought Loki to New York thus attracting Strange's attention.
3) The stinger at the end of Ant-Man with Capt, Falcon and Bucky took place halfway through Civil War

I also like the new Marvel Studios intro. Definitely feels like we're into Phase 3

Other than that I agree with what you said.

I'm letting myself down gently with this steelbook. that temp art looks incredible and with a gloss finish could be amazing. However, knowing Disney this will probably just be an embossed Eye of Agamoto.

Yeah I'm really liking the temp art and the mock up noodles made.
I love that art where you can see the back of him and he's staring out the window with the cape flowing

Off of what you said:
I actually did know Mordo was a villain but the film makes him out to be such a goodie good it just didnt feel right, and the actor can play bad.... Serenity but it just didn't feel right. Like the way he just walks off after saving the world lol.

I don't know much about kaecilius and had a little read after the film and yeah I agree, not much told about his origins

I also hope and think he's in ragnarok but it will only be about 5/10 mins a bit like falcon in antman, antman and spidey in civil war, iron man appearing in spidey etc which is what I want to see in these films now. Other characters making little appearances otherwise the films will be a bit odd without including the rest of the avengers here and there and only appearing together in avenger films. I'm really looking foward to Thor 3 because of the hulk element so if strange is in it then even better

I agree with your 3 points, was talking to my mate after with pretty much those exact points. Except I didn't mention the civil war stinger but you are right.
I wonder why he's brought Loki to New York though, from what I've heard of Thor 3 that stinger at the end of strange might even be after Thor 3. That's if Odin isn't recused in Thor 3.

I said to my mate I guarnatee the stinger at the end of strange is either Thor or guardians related becuase of the whole realm and infinity stone (this was before the film) and when he gets the eye of ..... I whispered to my mate in a burst of excitement - I bet that's an infinity stone lol. Made sense to have either a Thor or guardians stinger

Got back from watching the first viewing this morning (only person in the cinema, was great!). I loved the film, amazing visuals and well cast. I agree with those comments already about the villian not having much back story and maybe they should have spent a bit more time on this which probably wouldn't take long, maybe 10 mins or so and he would have felt like a more rounded character. Lets hope there is an extended cut with this in

Some points with spoilers, apologies if I spelt names wrong:muted:

1) It didn't take me long to get used to Cumberbatch's accent and it grew on me, he is getting better at the accent although still felt a little Bostonish perhaps from his role in Black Mass.

2) Mordo should have had a few more moments of suspision in the film to give more weight to him turning bad at the end.

3) Was a bit disappointed with Dormamu, seemed a bit underwhelming and contradictory after Kaecilius just stated that his dimension had no time, but then Strange used a time loop to bargin with him.

4) I was not looking forward to The Accient One as I did not feel that the gender swap was neccessary or that the actress would play the role well, however I was wrong and I enjoyed her performance a lot!

5) The humour I believe was meant to be wooden and dry, and I like that kind of humour so I enjoyed the funny bits and thought Cumberbatch done this perfectly. I really liked the Cloak of Levitation bits, which actually may have been more humourous than Cumberbatch himself!

Did anyone else think that the Dr. Strange theme music was suspiciously similar to the Harry Potter theme. Or it was so similar that it made me dissappointed.

It was a bit like black mass and also sounded like Hugh from house. But I got used to it in the end. It's harder for me because I don't like benedict. It's not that I hate him, I want to like him and do like him in some films but I find him a bit odd.

Completely agree about Mordo. Just a few sinister moments would of helped. And to be honest he's too on top of morales and he's a bad guy with good morales now lol a bit like the accident one. Taking her power from the dark side but for the good. Lol strange is the most fitting word I can put for that lol

I think the time loop only worked because strange kept dying and he had the eye. Whereas if there was no eye on strange time wouldn't matter and no death. But then that contradicts what you just said so good point.
Loved that part but 2 or 3 deaths we're the same style. Would of liked to see different deaths for the few repeats like the spikes going through him- we see that twice

Tilda is a weird one for me. She's a good actress but I hate her characters in everything. Especially the beach, burn after reading and Constantine but she was very good in this. Made me laugh when she says did you read that in a book when she f*cks with him.

The humour was meant to be dry, and I love dry humour or deadpan (beats in people just do nothing for example) but it's because Benedict is quite wooden and it's not the jokes that it didn't work. It would be the same if it was Keanu. A wooden actor can't do dry jokes. But some were OK and some were bad. Like Beyoncé, drake, Eminem etc

The cloak was awesome. I wasn't expecting that from the cloak.

Can't remember the music lol apart from pink Floyd. Need to see it again

It's getting mostly rave reviews but if it's anything like Guardians I'll steer clear, but if it's anything like The Winter Soldier then I'm in like flynn.

NOTHING like Gardians .

That board me stupid .

Not seen Winter Soldier as did not rate captain America .

We ALL Loved it even tge Gurumpy non film likeing Hubby .

The humor for once I understood it and found it absolutely BRILLIANT :) ON EVERY LEVEL.

Back from seeing it today. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. Cumberbuns does well but Mads Mikkelson was a bit wasted. Great effects though, might even give the 3D a go.

Few good laughs as well. Not on par with Guardians but there's not really a lot to compare other than being a bit out there compared to the Avengers lot.

Finally someone who shares the same view as me regarding Guardians. First 15 minutes was fab (Music by Redbone and 10CC), the rest, well, you can leave it. But this film does look impressive, so I will check this one out for sure! Thanks. :D

Big fan of the TBC front artwork but would prefer it on the second release as it would make for an excellent lenticular with tremendous depth . . . if done right of course.

Trouble is that out of the official poster designs only this one and ONE OTHER - out of about 20 choices - make for good steelbook front art .. . IMO of course
THE OTHER (poster design by LA):-

Well... Now that I've seen this movie, I can cancel this steelbook.
I don't think that this is at all worth owning... which is somewhat disappointing.

Is this that "Superhero-Fatigue" every one is always talking about...?

Checkout winter soldier it's definitely worth a look see! It's also widely regarded as the best MCU movie so far ( well at least by the fans on Twitter!)

Don't worry, you'll hit "Star Wars" fatigue in a few years

That will be a sad... sad day, my friend.. Haha!
If Kathleen Kennedy can at least keep up with the mission statement that each of the Star Wars Anthology films will be drastically different in tone-
Then I feel like it'll help with the longevity!

Marvel made Iron-Man, and then remade that same movie like 12 more times! It's all blurring together for me at this point!

Really? You have awesome actors like Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Madds Mikkelson, and Chiwel Ejiofor coupled with some amazing 3D visuals and what I consider a very intelligent script, and you think it's the same as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor???

I think its the best origin story so far Marvel have done since Iron Man. Same basic concept though, a man defeated has to rise up to a new challenge, the villian comes from a similar background and turns bad. So generally and from a very bottom level a similar story, however I think the similarities stop there. In my opinion Dr. Strange adds a lot more complexity to the story.

Sorry but you're talking nonsense. With that logic, every animated Disney movie is exactly the same, every horror film is exactly the same, etc, and we should only watch one film from each genre? Maybe you simply don't like superhero movies? If so there's no need to criticize them all, just accept it's not your thing.

Respect your opinion. Superheros are all over the place in the big screen. Steven Spielberg once said Superhero films will die by 2020 as fans will begin losing interest.

Now we need some superheroes in the real world who can fly on behalf on Karel to Prague, penalise those retailers who cause unnecessary delays, quickly sort out the GB orders and deliver those Blufans packages from China to UK within minutes, a lol.
