But its not an ancient grimoire, its a Blu-ray Steelbook for a movie...

Designed like a grimoire. Either design it properly "rest of world version" or do something else "Blufans" but don't do it halfarsed. It was designed not to have the title on the spine.

People can "try" defending this spine all they want, it's terrible, and ruins the aesthetic that Marvel/Disney were originally going for. The rest of the world version is far better and looks correct, this doesn't. Just looks ridiculous with that spine.

Then order your copy from one of the other countrys, you have many options :)

This one is for those of us that have wanted titles on the marvel steelbook spines since they started with the horrible spine pictures.

Rest of the world doesn't have faces on the spine this time, it has a bookend design that matches the overall look. Some Marvel steels definitely look better with the title, Avengers, Winter Soldier etc, but some don't. I've bought the titled versions through GB's when I felt they look better, but not all steels need spine titles if that wasn't what the original design plan was.

Received mine today and really like it! :D Can't believe we've finally received a spine title first time round and folks are bloody moaning :hilarious: Poor @zavvi  I can understand the argument for and against so like others have suggested, at least there's plenty other versions to choose from ;)

One thing that did bug me a little though, didn't other territories receive bossing treatment to the back as well unlike this one?

well mine turned up today and happy with the spine, this steel be like marmite you'll either love it or hate it

@chunk you wanna gloss you tried turning your hand to something like below for about £5, someone on here used to gloss all his steels can't remember his name but used to have a guide on it all.

I'm going to respectfully disagree. To me, the status quo of what makes a good steelbook good is front/back design, including whatever finishes are applied. When I receive a new steelbook I check the front artwork and the back, not what's going on with the spine- Obviously we're all different with respect to that.

When I display my films I get completely ocd if there's no title- 1 film without a title would completely stand out from my 800+ movies I own, and not in a good way.

Your paragraph:

"People can "try" defending this spine all they want, it's terrible..." makes you come across quite hateful and bitter, and begrudging people who DO like the fact this has a title on the spine (myself included)

After spending over the odds on previous Marvel films to get the version with the title on the spine, I welcome this as being something that's cost me £25 instead of £40+ for a change...
