Can you explain how the relationship between Disney, NM, and Kimchidvd works? You say that Nova could've done this. Was it offered to them and they refused?
Think he was speaking hypothetically, as in, Nova could have produced the exact same package if they still had the rights to a korean exclusive but it wouldn't have sold out like Civil War whereas this will be sought after. Could be wrong though

They would of had it if they continued their nova collection range

But they stopped after alice, jungle book and civil war (whatever one was the last one) blatantley due to poor sales and since then kimchi have taken over the wwa Korean dress up of them for their collection

Is it confirmed that NovaMedia ended their NC line? Did they state that or are you assuming that? I didn't see any news about that but maybe I missed it.

NM doesn't pump out releases like FA does. They seem to stay consistent at roughly 1 every 1-2 months. I assumed that they were spending their time focusing on Kill Bill 1 and 2, John Wick 2, and Avengers 2.

I don't think that NM is as big as Kimchidvd. Look at Kimchidvd's volume of releases lately - they release a lot more. Kimchidvd also started the trend of just adding slips and a few photo cards to their releases and calling them "exclusive" way before the last Nova Choice was released.

I wish NM could release all the great movies (especially Marvel movies), but I don't think they have the manpower to handle every movie.

Nova haven't been consistent in ages (with steels) the 4 exclusives you mentioned are their only ones in a very long time. Think since T2?
At one point I thought Nova were in trouble and going to end the steels due to their poor NC sales and they seemed to be only focusing on them at one point and not wea

Not sure if it's been mentioned officially by them, can't remember but think it's pretty obvious though and quite a lot cottened on to it on here.

Who knows they might eventually pick them back up in time because they are focusing more on wea steels again but it might not be a good idea for them financially to continue with NC

Oh I'm fully aware that kimchi was and is still doing the same but maybe a few things factored in like kimchi might be cheaper than nova, they now use full slip lentis instead of o rings on Disney and judging by the strange slip with marvel also, kimchi sometimes add more items compared to what nova add which sometimes was just 2 post cards a book and some character cards and like you say nova might not be as big as kimchi etc (when you look at both sites kimchi sell a lot more items) but Nova used to sell out their NCs on the dot (when the servers worked) and that stopped a long time ago forcing them to stop. But like I say they might bring them back next year. Who knows

The saturated market is why NovaMedia doesn't sell out every release. Their exclusives like Kill Bill and John Wick do very well though. I think focusing on exclusive releases like JW2 is better overall and perhaps more fulfilling for them.

I guess we will see whether they do a Guardians Vol 2 NC release.

Kimchi's quality is much better than Blufan's, blufan's lenticular cards are too big to fit the slip, check out your copies and you'll see what I'm talking about, and I don't like their WEA design, the WWA is definite winner!

The point I'm making is Nova used to handle all the wwa bells and whistle packages for the Marvel and Disney movies and for some reason sales dipped and they werent selling out, I'm guessing they let the bidding rights slip to kimchi and yet their sales are fine? If nova had done this it would've likely been the same bar an o ring instead of a double lenti slip. Nova lentis are second to none as were their full slips. I just find it strange that kimchi releases seem to sell like hot cakes and Nova were really struggling the past year.

Agreed man, it's very odd and somewhat disappointing. Nova actually has more likes on Facebook, I was curious if over there, kimchidvd was more well known like zavvi but I guess not.

Honestly as far as a consumer goes, it doesn't impact me too highly. I think Kimchidvd's release won't be flawed even against the nova's

Yeah and a saturated market. I forgot to add that one

kimchi dr strange is looking to sell well so I reakon they will do guardians 2 aswel as Thor 3 etc. I'm actually happier kimchi have taken over the marvel because we get a proper lenti slip to nova (despite my recent issues with kimchi and I know there are some O ring lovers out there)

Part of me hopes now Kimchidvd sticks with the MCU line. I like Kimchidvd and novamedia but I don't wanna the releases to fluctuate. I don't mind it changing mid-way but hopefully now Kimchidvd are here to stay. Certainly don't want them both tackling the same release.

I guess we will know soon as they list the standard PET editions

And although the market is saturated, @Covcraig point definitely still stands. The market is saturated now. Just as many dr strange releases with this as there were civil war with nova. Though that didn't sell out and I'll put money on this one going swiftly

Honestly, as much as I love Nova, they were taking so long releasing their slips. I hope Kimchidvd manage to start the conversations earlier and get GOTG Vol 2 out swiftly
