Yeah, that's what I'm planning as well, but we'll have to lose that o-ring slip with the nice unique art. Wish it was on the bigger box or the steelbook...
This seems like the X-Large version of the Mall-rats release by Arrow that was exclusive with tons of new features a brand new 4K transfer and soundtrack along with a ton of extras on multiple discs and goodies. Plus the two very cool different covers. I’m so happy despite no steelbook.

However nothing compared to the amount of goodies that come with the Umbrella Ed. my lord! I just preordered that, holy bleep that is an absurd amount of extras.
I know Kevin said he just got the rights to Dogma back so I assume this release is thanks to that. He’s always bummed out speaking about how many of his movies he doesn’t own the rights or characters to.

So this lionsgate version is the same art and features as the umbrella Ed. It’s just a steelbook. There a release or preorder date?

I am buying the umbrella edition
and then add the steelbook inside the umbrella set, 2000 IQ

Any idea if the blu ray will be region free? Did a little looking around and the one at diabolikdvd shows as region free. Looking at buying this for myself and a friend and hoping the bonus features are region free as we are not in Australia. This is one of his as well as my favorite movies so really hoping to get this edition as the only buy, the Lionsgate one seems to leave a lot to be desired.

It's super weird to see that unbelievable cast, starring in a film with a rubber poop monster. I always thought the film was ok-ish at best, a bit too silly for my taste (after loving Clerks, hating Mallrats and liking Chasing Amy). The controversy surrounding it by the catholic church was more interesting than the actual movie and I'm almost scared to warch this again now after 25 years of Kevin Smith turning out one tolerable/bad /horrible movie after another..... still need that Steelbook though

Trying to figure out if the retail price will be $34.96 or not such that I can get a listing up here on HDN. Concerned slightly this will sell out quick.
i dont think it will.. nothing so far has sold out that quickly (except the american psycho VHS lol).. some ppl were very worried about the descent but then lionsgate added 3000 copies and its still available now

and with dogma you already have alternatives (umbrella for instance), so it should be good

My assumption was along the same lines but it's hard to gauge just how popular this release is going to be, The Descent is down to 2k now and while I don't know how many copies they launched with, it's clearly doing numbers. So I don't expect Dogma to sell out but it really wouldn't take that much extra for it to happen either.
