My personal opinion, not everything NEEDS to be 4K fml. Especially on films that were made before the technology was even invented.

I love seeing old films exactly as they were created/filmed, keeping the essence and aesthetic of it's time and of that era. Once 4K enters the chat into old films, you start losing that element of an old film and just becomes something saturated and artificial.

So for me, I'm happy to see films that were pre-4K still being released like this. (Especially 70s/80s/90s films)
Anything filmed in 4K and after that tech was created, should be released in 4K

Just my personal opinion and never understood and got on board with the whole "No 4K, No Buy" agenda

I don't think it's right to say there is a correct way to the watch the 'original', what exactly is the original anyway? 35mm which we've had since the early 1900's is technically around 6k so a 4k should be a more accurate representation of the original than not, it just wasn't practical for most people until somewhat recently.

A bad colour grading or excessive modification of the image can worsen the experience but those are separate issues from the resolution.

I think for many the absence of 4k is an issue because we want definitive versions while a standard release means a newer version will probably be available at some point and I certainly expect to pay less for its absence yet prices stubbornly continue to rise.

All those 70s/80s/90s films were filmed on „film/pelicula” which to my knowledge, holds MUCH HIGHER information (aka „resolution”) than 4K/8K (and beyond).
If you're REALLY true about how older movies were filmed/created, then watch the pelicula/film instead (if you have how). Otherwise, remember that the movies that are „film-scan” and done properly, are how the movies should have been back when they were filmed.

Just saying... don't want to start any arguing here....

There's no argument to be had don't worry, all I said it was my personal opinion, that was it.
It's good to have a nice a debate about it, but no need for any argument when there was no basis for one to start with :)

I'm not one of those keyboard warriors or trolls who love to stick around and go at it, I just state my opinion and that's all

OK, my bad… “didn’t wanted to start any DEBATE on the matter “…
Yet, you should take it that your opinion is based on wrong facts.

Have you checked the link I’ve provided in my previous post?
I have to say I just browsed it briefly, after even briefer search, but I think there are some interesting facts and information there on the film/pelicula.

Thanks man. Their first steelbooks? I hope they’ve not got horrific finishes if they have no experience selling them.

I’m not particularly fussed about Dragon but I’m wondering if they will sell them all together as a set where I may aswell get them all together if it’s fairly cheap or even free to add the extra. I can’t see these titles getting steels elsewhere, they’re quite obscure.

There are some Van Damme (Sudden Death), Arnold (True Lies, Jingle all the way, End of Days, 6th Day) and Stallone (Copland, Nighthawks) titles that are screaming for releases. Loads more but those are the few that come to mind.
