I have told like gazillion times that EiV are the worst Studio when it comes to AV quality and content. [emoji40] [emoji1]

Always have been right back since the days of VHS. My heart used to break when I saw a new release was EiV back in the tape days as I knew that it would be borderline pirated quality.

This is one steelbook I am holding out for when they actually release it. I'm not buying a zbox just to own this and I missed out on one of the 14 copies they offered without the box. Patience will be rewarded.

I think there were a few more than 14 of these available without the ZBox, if I remember correctly it was on their website for a few hours.

It will probably come back up for order again as folks who ordered the Mondo one have cancelled this.

Yes, there were more than 14 available to buy that day, though I know it was only available for 2 hours or so, as I came back to order one at approx 14:12 that day. Didn't have anyone's guess how many Zavvi allocated though I do assume it was heavily weighted against having a zbox than individual item.

I don't remember it being "heavily weighted against having a zbox than individual item", true the combo did become available first but there was no need to buy it as the solo option became available about 12 hours later. The fact that the Good Cop/Bad Cop ZBOX is still available shows that there was a limited market for the combo.

The steelbook was only available on its own for less than 2 hours and also more importantly most customers did not even know it was live to purchase on its own when it did go live

Its a print run 2,500

Most customers will not be willing to order this release with a zbox to get the steelbook a few will have but they will seen soon enough that was not needed

No way is this sold out or even close to being
Zavvi just trying for extra zbox sales and will get some they would not normally get but they will eventually put this back available to order on its own just before or after release date as most are not going to fall for the zbox

I still think in my opinion Zavvi should keep these Zbox and steelbook releases separate but offer a deal if your order both as a incentive
and not be trying to force customer to purchase as a package

They will have better chance of selling out a steelbook at full price without the need to purchase a zbox combo as they are really only annoying customers with these zbox releases combos with customers not having the ability to order just the steelbook itself and having customers then wait for it to become available to order which can lead to customer not even bothering at all ordering but would have originally

I agree with the majority that you say especially that the combo should not be an ‘all or nothing’ offer but an added bonus or sweetener to sell the ZBOX.

I don't agree however with "also more importantly most customers did not even know it was live to purchase on its own when it did go live" that's just pure speculation on your point unless you have any empirical proof to back the statement up?

It is typical of Zavvi to declare a product SOLD OUT either due to only a limited amount being made available at order time or the fact that they don't have a live stock system, but this should come as no surprise to anyone on this forum or any other as it is a well documented occurrence.

Most companies have a live stock system so that stock is put back up soon after cancellations occur, i.e. amazon but unfortunately we don’t have that luxury with Zavvi.

There was no prior notice as when the steelbook was going to be live on its own so no one knew when to expect the steelbook on its own be available

There was only prior notice as to when you could order the Zbox/Steelbook Combo
Lots of members wanted to know when they could order the steekbook on its own but that info was not known

The steelbook going live on its own most did not know about it as how could they know when it was never announced the live time in advance of going live

Look back through the thread lots of comments when this go live
When the steelbook on it own did go live all of a sudden with no advance notice in less than 2 hours is not available to order on its own but still available only if your order the zbox combo
The steekbook going live on its own It only got noticed by a few who just happened to be online at that time

We all know its not Sold Out
I would say there is a lot of stock not sold yet as for a lot to be sold in 2 hours would require advanced live time be known as even the scalpers would need to know that information

Actually you're wrong as snooloui posted on May 20th #860
The Steelbook itself goes live today at noon BST according to another site which seems to make sense.

You posted about 3 times telling peeps they didn't need to buy with the ZBOX as it would be available on its own.

Then from #867 onwards there are posted of "it's live" and "ordered"

That's not advanced notice that's posting live time on the day it went live which most not seeing that info been at work

Advanced notice is we state the exact date and time a steelbook will be live before it goes live and at least the day before
This is usually told at least a few days before and that way members know exact date and time and can plan in advance and be ready to place an order

Yes I posted you didn't need to buy with the ZBOX as it would be available on its own but I never provided a time it would be live on it own

We only knew when the Zbox/Combo was going live and the steelbook on its own live time was not known
First chance to pre-order this item is tomorrow, May 20th at 8 am UK time with 'Good Cop/Bad Cop' Zbox
We only knew the live time for the Good Cop/Bad Cop' Zbox Steelbook Combo
When asked multiple times by other members what time the steelbook will be available on its on the answer was not known

It was a complete surprise the live time for the steelbook on its own as most were not expecting it
We only knew the combo deal would be live at 8.00am and no one knew in advance the steelbook by itself was going live at 12.00pm noon it was only noticed by luck that morning at 9.53am that it would be at 12.00 noon most did not see this post to the thread as most were at work
No one knew what the live time would be the day before

Example of advanced notice
I posted on Yesterday American Hustle Steelbook
Live Time will be 12.00pm (Noon) Sunday 28th June

You're arguing semantics now, how much notice is advanced as snolloui posted it before it went live NOT when it went live hence he would not have said "The Steelbook itself goes live today at noon BST".
