Very nice @bloodsnake007 !

Have you watched it yet?
What's your verdict on the PQ and Audio quality?
Is the slip-case embossed?

Can't wait to receive mine!:)

Rich (@ricster ) doesn't post much on here anymore but he does post a lot in a couple 4K fb groups. This is his verdict on the 4K disc:

"
From Lionsgate Home Entertainment we are able to review the USA release of the UHD disc - Dredd.

This 4k offering comes from a 2k digital intermediate, meaning Lionsgate have upscaled this release to 4K for release in 4K UHD disc.

Lionsgate present Dredd in a 2.40:1 2160p24 4:2:0 10bit colour HDR10. The film starts off a little ropey in picture quality. Very grainy and not much in the uptake of upgrade but things change after the "smoke up"'scene with HDR kicking in. The HDR isn't pushed to the max on every single scene. It's used sparingly. You get it in the far out scenes and the lighting pops once again. I expected the wide colour gamut of Rec 2020 to toast the colours with more vivid appeal but the expanded colour is pulled back in. The finer detail you expect from 4k uhd isn't there but you can blame the source material for that. Sometimes the clarity is much more defined but sometimes it isn't. Shadow detail of HDR shows little improvement but it's the bright HDR which shows off more. Luckily I have a quite high nit value on the panel so I'm benefiting from it.
The hevc 265 encodes it averaging quite a high 70s. The disc has been mastered to a luminance of 1000 nits here.

Now. The audio. Where to start ?? The blu Ray had a cracking dts hd ma track. So with this new atmos mix lets reclass that blu Ray track as good because this new mix is classed as phenomenal. It's intense. It's bassy. It's basically unrelenting and unforgiving. The sound design is brilliant. There's good sound direction and isolation. The low frequency bass extension has a prodding thump throughout the film and explosions rattle the walls and the floor. The svs is definitely getting a workout. It doesn't give up one bit.

Video 89/100
Audio 100/100

The French blu Ray WAS the best way to watch this movie. You can supersede all that now. The uhd disc is the only way now that I will watch this great film.
-----------------
Disc was played in a Oppo 205 in 4:4:4 12 bit colour space in 4K 2160p resolution 1.85:1 to Samsung KS9800 FALD panel. Audio in Dolby
atmos 7.2.4 on Marantz SR7010. B&W speakers with SVS SB13 sub."

Ok so watched this 2K TO 4K upgrade last night and my thoughts are as follows...FIRST:
I have the Japanese blu ray of DREDD... And going by what has been said before about what is the best 1080p version of this. The French and the Japanese releases are the superior versions. So comparing my 1080p Japan disc to this was interesting indeed.

PICTURE: I found the 4K version slightly softer at times compared to the 1080p disc. Although there are moments where you are left with your mouth open. Mainly due to the HDR and the Wider colour gamut.
The slow motion scenes are a sight to behold
. :OMG: Bursting with fine detail and a rainbow of colours..
Take's those sections to a whole new level of dreamscape.

There is also a much higher grain affect giving the whole look of the UHD version a more gritty and dystopian feel. With an uptick in some scenes of fine detail. And much improved, deeper, more solid black levels. With better shadow detail in much of the low light scenes inside the Peach Tree Tower.

The balcony battle with the big guns blasting across to DREDD on the opposite side is spectacular thanks largely due to the HDR. That really had me on the edge of my seat. With the white explosion of light bursting out of the screen with a surreal 3D esque feel.. Give me more????

All in all for a DREDD fan this is a must have version. And for most of the time a substantial upgrade over the 1080p version.
I mark picture quality 8/10 with moments that are 9/10...

SOUND: What can I say....:naughty:
The Dolby ATMOS track is F**KING SPECTACULAR!!!!! OMG...:wow:
The sound on the 1080p version was no slouch by any means. But this new ATMOS track takes it to a whole other level and is the real winner here. I thought my widows were going to shatter and the legs fall off my seat with low frequency throbs from my subs...:whistle::sing:
JUST AMAZING!!!!!!

It's been a couple of years since I last watched this masterpiece. And watching it again in 4K just took me to another level of appreciation for just how fantastic this film is. So glad I have this version and for me it will be my go to version of the film to watch in future. I fricken loved it...:cigar:

Highly recommended....IMO :notworthy:

@Ashisarobot
going by your Avatar, I guess when you finally go 4K you are in for a major treat with this version...:D

YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED.........:cigar:

Not to compare but I watched the 4K disc of T2 Trainspotting yesterday, it also have a atmos track and the opening is so very loud it's insane. Kitchen equipment were falling down from the shelfs in the next room!:rofl:
