question for those who opened this steelbook.

are there any glue or tape holding the card together?

i may have to open mine if there if there is anything like this.

Whoa whoa whoa I have a few sealed steels that have info cards glued to them, could something potentially happen if I dont remove them? I also have a couple opened steels that came with glue on the cards and once I watched them I stuck them right back on (I actually keep the info cards lol)

Could something happened to my steelbooks!?

Thanks

BTW I own this steel and it is a masterpiece. The movie is epic too!

There is a worry that over an extended period of time, the chemicals in the glue could discolor the finish on the steelbook....That's all.

That sounds like a big future problem if you ask me! Thanks for informing me, wow I guess I learn something new everyday....has anyone out there confirmed this? Sorry I'm kinda new so is their a dedicated thread around? I searched but came up blank....

Thanks again

There was glue on one of my other steelbooks. It wasn't discoloured. However, as the glue is raised, it dented in my steelbook because it was lying down, with items in top of it before I bought it.

Tape is also bad. The longer tape is in there, the more chance of peeling colour off the steelbook.

Glue and tape is bad. Slipcard is good.

ebay have a good few listed but from what I've seen you can't get a sealed one for under £20, I paid £24 for mine. If I saw them in HMV for £15 I'd snap them up!!!!

Back when I got mine I thought they were more on the rare side but as time went on I started seeing them around more than usual. They are definitely not scarce as I thought they were either. I think people spend good money on it because one it's such an awesome looking steel and two it's a stellar film!

+1 But this is becoming rare...My advice to anyone is to pick up a copy before the prices go up EEK!

Please do not post any request to buy/sell/trade in the main steelbook threads. Use the appropriate forums which will be made available to those who qualify.

Just to let you guys and gals know, the BD in the Steelbook plays on my Region A Panasonic BD75 (along with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy). Place disc in tray wait til warning comes up on screen, press 1 then enter and hey presto it plays.
